★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I was a cadet in your squadron from about 1967 to 1973. I got my pilot's license from cadets at 16 1/2 years old (got the Billy Bishop Award), went on a foreign exchange to Germany in 1972 and in 1973 left to go to RRMC. I left the Can Forces to pursue a 36 year career in law enforcement (with Vancouver PD), retiring in 2013. I briefly returned to your squadron in the early 80s as a training officer. I now live in Sechelt, BC, and am the Past President of the Sunshine Coast Centre of the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada, running our observatory at Sechelt Airport. I'm currently the National Secretary of the RASC, but in a month's time will become the 2nd Vice President of the Society. I also teach astronomy on cruise ships. My cadet experiences certainly set me on the path to accomplishment, and I'm very grateful for that. I hope that you're all doing well and wish you continuing success. Are you still meeting at St. David's church in West Van? I should drop by some time.
