We take traditional, comfort food recipes and give them a plant-based spin. At our vegan restaurant we make all of our Seitans and Nut-Based Cheeses in house.

Was soo nice to go out and not feel like we were "compromising" with our meals as many of us do when eating at a restaurant; that is unless you order that ONE vegan dish... Certainly not the case here! Can't wait to try other new menu items! Really treated like friends.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This was the first time eating at the Roughage Eatery, and it was overall a great experience.
This is a 100% vegan restaurant with comfort style food and they do a great job converting old familiar dishes into vegan menu options.
The restaurant itself is located in an old home that has been retrofitted to support a small dining area and kitchen which offers you old style comfort vibes and food.
There is limited dining space available so may be worth calling ahead to ensure if you’re looking to dine in that tables are available *Could be due to Covid-19
The service was friendly and the portion sizes were quite fair considering the additional costs vegan foods usual have.
Parking can be tough due to it being located on Sherbrooke Avenue but thankfully this evening there were many open street spots available.
Overall, if you’re looking to enjoy a vegan meal as someone who frequents the food or its your first time trying something vegan, I would definitely recommend trying Roughage Eatery.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I've been to Roughage Eatery several times and I can say without a doubt that I am always left satisfied, both the food and the service is top notch. I've gone with my wife for brunch there a few times and the owners are so lovely with us. Always making sure that our coffee is topped off and willing to make substitutions for any ingredients a person may not be a fan of, or even if you're feeling a bit whimsical and just want try something new.
I'm a big fan of the cheezy veggie melt, and their mac and cheese is also very good, if you're new to vegan meats then I feel that these are great options to lure you into to their menu and get you on the bandwagon!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Everything I've tried from here has been really delicious. The staff are so friendly as well. They are so creative and go above and beyond making delicious vegan replicas. My only suggestion would be like a better coffee / tea selection for lunch/brunch. Like oat milk lattes and oat milk London fogs would be awesome! Or even vegan creamers for the coffee would be nice. But overall really good restaurant ?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Went here for the first time recently and had a great dinner - the honey spicy chickun burger and the onion soup were both great! Also had a great selection of local drinks, and we had great recommendations from our friendly server. We’ll be back again.
