I wanted to get away from the city/noise/people so we drove 4 hours to rock lake campground with our dog just to end up being surrounded by a ton of people/noise. You have campers 5 feet on both sides of your site as well as in front of you. We were surrounded by other campers who were rudly walking through our site constantly to go use the Porta potty, blasting their music till 2:00am, and teenagers honking their car horns repeatedly. Just not the kind of camping experience I was hoping for. ?

We stayed in Algonquin Park for five days celebrating my daughter's birthday and had a wonderful time. The fire ban that lasted 2 nights didn't stop is from roasting marshmallows over the Coleman stove. On the way in, we got to see a Mama moose crossing the highway with her big baby! We shared our campground with red squirrels, curious starlings, and friendly chimpmunks. I helped a snapping turtle cross the highway, crossing guard style! We got to see ravens, fish making bubbles and heard a wolf howl! Our campsite was a very short walk to beautiful Rock Lake. The water at the beach was warm, shallow and clean. We didn't get to cliff jump but, I guess we have something to look forward to for next time. On our 4th day, I realized there was Giant Hogweed growing across from our site. We let the rangers know and I tagged some of them with the ribbons leftover from my daughter's piñata. It was my first time seeing one in real life! On our way out of Algonquin Park we got to watch a young moose along with other people who had pulled over to the side of the highway!

Great campsite, some sites right on the water. Very clean washrooms close by. Beautiful views of the lake.

I didnt camp here but used the comfort station and went through to get to the Booth's Rock trail. The place looked busy and camsites were very close together and very little privacy. Large lake with a medium sized beach. The lake had lots of canoes, kayaks, etc.

Okay so I love Algonquin, so for the most part this rating will be skewed lol. Getting into the campground is about a 10-15 minute drive and the road conditions this year were really bad. Maybe because it rained? Pot hole city (see below). The campground itself is cozy but the campsites are pretty close to eachother. So be prepared to hear the neighboring kids at the wee hours of the morning. The beach is very close which is awesome! And the water was great :) note that it does allow for motor boats up to a certain speed so slightly noisier.

Campsires are a lot more crowded and less private than I remember but right beside the lake which makes up for it. Great Rail trail starts here that will take you a long way.

Well, i must say i had a ball. Camping at this place was worthwhile and memorable. This camping site was super accessible to different spots. Canoe delivered to the campsite without delivery fees. Well privacy wasn't at the top notch But I've had an iconic experience. You can have a peaceful chilling session at the beach with the beautiful moonlight. Park Rangers and Mosquitoes were patrolling 24 hours. Rangers were super friendly. Washroom was cleaner than we expected. There's a lot of things to do around that place.

Love this campground for summer camping. The sites are really close together, but the people are generally well behaved and there's a really comfortable vibe. There are lots of places to swim and you can rent kayaks or canoes from nearby outfitters. The washrooms are generally pretty clean and the hot showers are great. If the sites were a bit more private it would be perfect, but understand they need to maximize the space.
