About RM of Parkdale No. 498 Municipal Office
Topographically, the RM of Parkdale has prime agricultural land within the southern half of the municipality, lake and recreational land uses midrange surrounding the many lakes, and in the northern portions is the Bronson Provincial Forest that provides substantial recreational opportunities and mineral resource exploration and extraction. It is through effecting and appropriate planning and development outlined in the Basic Planning Statement (or Official Community Plan) and it's affiliated Zoning Bylaw that the Rural Municipality's Council, Administration, and Planning staff can ensure that compatible planning and development continues throughout the entire Municipality.
On the western side of the RM is Turtle Lake which is home to two Organized Hamlets of Indian Point Golden Sands, and the Turtle Lake Lodge. Collaboratively working with the RM of Mervin No. 499, the RM of Parkdale Council is committed to preserving the beauty of the area and Turtle Lake to retain the high quality of life local residents have come to expect. Inter-municipal cooperation has been identified as one of the Province's Statements of Provincial Interest, and ensures daily governance of the RM aligns with provincial regulations and Acts.
On the eastern side of the RM is the Little Loon Regional Park that allows visitors the opportunity to complete a little camping, as well as golfing at the nine hole golf course at the Little Loon Regional Park Golf Club.
