Update: March 19th - massive pools of water blocking off majority of trails. It's icy right now (mid Feb 2022) but it's an amazing collection of trails great to walk the dog. It's not off-leash but my dog loves it.

Well groomed trails for winter snow fun or for walks or runs during the spring, summer or fall too. Decent parking available and plenty of fun for you, the kids and your pets.

Me and my sister and some gals do our walk on Wednesday and it is a nice area to walk through the trees and hear the birds and find tracks of wild animals in the snow. Take a walk and see for yourself.

This area is a hugh place, contains walking trails and open field trails. There were more people showed up in the afternoon than morning time. Moreover, there has more than 10 kind of flowers admirable while walking down the trails. A nice place to be in nature atmosphere.

Excellent natural area with walking trails throughout. The trails are in various states of care so make sure you have good footwear. There is no washroom facilities. You can enter the area by foot at the south end and at the north end there is a parking lot where the main entrance is to the trails. Spread throughout the trails are lots of information boards about the flora and fauna. A great place to enjoy a peaceful and relaxing stroll through nature. Lots of mosquitoes, just warning you. So use mosquito repellent if you can.

We frequent the various trails and cross country ski trails in this large desigated natural area. You can walk for hours through groomed hiking/ski trails in wooded areas and open meadows. The Sturgeon River borders the west side of this preserve. It is usually fairly quiet during the week but can get very busy on weekends.

As a former resident of Poundmakers Lodge Treatment Centers, walking the trails in this area has a special meaning to me. Absolutely everyone can appreciate the beauty of the wonderful scenery here though. With trails all over the place going in every possible direction, there's certainly lots to explore.
