About River Park Off Leash Dog Park
Thank you for the honourable work you do and have done! I would like to donate to help re-supply the poop bags that used to be offered. Since they ‘ran out’ I have seen many many unattended poops in the park. I feel very grateful to use this park daily and I’m happy to joining in a regular ‘pick up old poop’ day.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice large dog park in SW Calgary community of Altadore. Great views at downtown Calgary and the Elbow River Valley. Lots of garbage cans throughout the park for dog waste etc. Lots of open field areas to throw a ball and also treed spots for dogs to explore. There are lights along the power line for walking later at night/dusk/dawn. Be aware that the close proximity to the river valley coyotes do frequent the park early morning/late evening. This park can be very busy on weekends. Parking at south end or along west side. This park is not fully fenced. Obey signage and have your dogs under control.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great area to take your dog walking. The only downfall is they have gotten rid of a lot of the street parking and the park is usually pretty busy, so it can be difficult to find a place to park.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is a great place. Wasn't sure about it as there is no fencing but the dogs were great and had tons of room to run. The mature trees and bushes are a great distraction for them when they just want to sniff around. Good views of the valley and the city and looking forward to seeing green soon. Wear your mud boots as it is wet and muddy in a lot of places right now. (Our dogs are on leashes in this picture to stop them from running through the water at the end of our walk.)
