★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Inconsistent, but generally bland or over-salted food & extremely over-priced. Also, the temperature was unpleasantly cold (I had a thick sweater on, and my husband who is always too warm said it was cold). AND the decor, clearly aiming for moody and classy, achieved gloomy and cheap only, with the ugly tables/chairs, strange table layout, and fake flowers & candles.
My husband & I had the following:
Crusted goat cheese appetizer: the best food we had that night. Flavours were good, but wish they had more bread & cheese on the plate as the ratios were a bit off.
Italian salad: the blandest dressing I've ever tasted. Salad mix was ok, but while I could tell the salad looked wet, I couldn't taste anything. No Name Italian dressing tastes better. I had to add salt & pepper to it. Seriously - how hard is it to make a good dressing??
Minestrone soup: a safe bet, wasn't bad. Pretty basic.
Chicken saltimbocci: wayyyyyy too salty. Like they were unable to figure out how to season it so they just dumped a lot of salt on it.
Risotto: pretty good actually, nice and creamy. More mushrooms than I'd prefer personally though.
Mama mia trio:
- chicken parm was obviously the standard frozen stuff you buy from the superstore. Nothing exciting.
- manicotti: bland and basic but decent.
- fettuccine Alfredo: very watery and bland. I can EASILY whip up a way better simple Alfredo sauce. How on earth did they mess this up?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Waited an hour for our meal. The chicken parmesan was overcooked, the breading was mush, and the sauce was out of a can, tasted like Prego. The manicotti was great but the sauce was the same watery Prego. I waited a good 15 minutes before I was asked for a refill on my wine. I would rate this place the same as any Olive Garden.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Everything we ordered was excellent. The star was the Pescatore. Seriously order it! Some had greek salad, some had ceaser, both were great but one had their cream of cauliflower soup with dill and it was rich and creamy. Highly recommended.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Service was horrendous. Food was comparable Olive Garden. Had to call over server multiple times for more wine. Food took well over an hour and when we asked why everyone else was getting their food before us it was because “we got the 3 course dinner”. What? We ordered an entree and shared an appetizer.
Will not go back.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is one of my rare 5 star reviews and it's all because of the exceptional staff. The food was great but the staff service was the extra star.
Street parking and there is a ramp into the side door for for accessibility. Washrooms are big enough and clean.
Side note: I had foolishly had a wee bit too much to drink earlier in the day, not realizing that supper with friends was actually a surprise party. Coffee and water restored me to sociable.
We had a large group of 17 and service of drinks (and coffee) was quick and continued as such through the meal. The main courses were served quickly and nobody was left waiting for their meal. My pasta with seafood was delicious with lots of shrimp to enjoy.
We had brought along a birthday cake which was brought out with lots of candles to blow out, (more than I care to admit).
I would be pleased to recommend Ristorante for a large group, provided you wisely make a reservation to ensure the same great staffing we enjoyed.
