K	Karen Heminsley on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My husband and I recently spent three nights at the Rideau River Cottage. Had a lovely, relaxing time. The cottage is exactly as it looks in the pictures - cozy and nicely decorated. The beds were comfortable with lots of bedding, towels, etc. The kitchen was well equipped and had everything we needed. Although it was a bit of a muddy time to stay and we didn't get out on the numerous local walking trails like we had hoped, we had a great time just sitting outside on the deck or relaxing in the hot tub, enjoying the view. Check-in was easy and Matt was super responsive to any questions that we had. The location is perfect. Only 5 minutes into Kemptville with a beautiful scenic drive in. We'd go back in a heartbeat.

Definitely a hidden gem, off the beaten track, absolutely a "Wow" place! Either you are looking for a weekend getaway, or staycation, this is a great choice. Matt is a super host, prepared everything very clean and tidy, respond to my questions even at 10PM, thanks Matt!

However heads up to people, the cottage allows pets but he will charge a pet fee and a cleaning fee and despite charging these fees he will expect the cottage to be as clean as we arrived with no sign of a pet. Very strict about the rules so make sure you read them well.

This place is amazing and super romantic, if you are looking for a getaway choose this spot you will not be disappointed. From the hot tub to the kayaks provided such a gem. They do have cameras which I was initially uncomfortable with but it is disclosed and I can understand wanting to protect your property, they are not on while you are there.

The cottage is authentic, comfortable and one of the best equipped places we have stayed at. Matt responded quickly to messages and questions. We loved our stay and hope to do so again in future, perhaps next time in the summer.

The cottage was in a great location, just a short drive from town yet far enough to feel a sense of peace and quiet in nature along the river. The rustic but modern feel of the cottage makes you feel at home immediately, and you have everything provided to dine in style and comfort. The nearby trails make for an easy walkabout in the woods, even during the winter. Seeing the cottage interior and exterior decorated with Christmas lights made our stay feel that much more magical during the holidays! Would love to spend time here again in any season.
