★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Kind of mediocre. My wife and I had been talking about going to El Hornello for a few years and decided to try it Friday night. Very poor wine list, service was pretty slow and seemed to lack experience. Stracciatella soup was really good. I had the chicken Parmesan that was pretty good. My wife had a steak that wasn't anything more than ordinary. Don't think we'll be returning.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I've eaten at this restaurant on many occasions, and never had anything to say until today. Went for supper on Friday night with a group of 7, we get assigned a table and get our orders taken, so far so good. You'd expect somewhat of a wait time on such a busy night, so I won't complain about that. Where things went wrong is with the service we received. The waitress assigned to our table was rather cold and rude. When came to time to order, rather than moving around the table to take orders, she'd yell from across the table, cutting conversations. When came the time for her to bring main dishes over, rather than moving the smaller plates that were already set on the table, she'd simply push them with the other plates, or wait for us to remove them by simply staring at us. Answers to our questions were short and cold, and it felt like she really wasn't looking forward to serving us. I don't know when I'll return, but I'll make sure to get served by somebody else.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Admittedly, I didn’t expect the food to be great - but I completely judged the book by its cover. We’ve had the vegetarian, margherita, and pepperoni pizzas, as well as the garlic bread - all are delicious! The pizza dough is *chef’s kiss*. There was a bit of a mishap with our order one time (missing an item) - I called to mention it and I believe it was the owner who came to hand deliver the missing item to us, with a little extra something for the mishap. I was already sold with the food, but the excellent service was the cherry on top!
