My dog smelled like urine and had diarrhea after leaving that place. They kept her in a cage the whole time because according to the caretaker, they had no time. They never took her out or let her play with other dogs. They just caged my dog! WHAT A TERRIBLE PLACE! And ARROGANT EMPLOYEE. They don't deserve even 1 star, I wish I could give zero star here!

We got a kitten from Zen Refuge. The staff were so kind, professional, and knowledgeable. You can tell that they are thoroughly committed to caring and finding homes for the animals in their charge.

I get a cat from this Refuge. Ask when I first saw her is she healthy? Yes they said she just came back from the vet. Brought her in later to be sterilized and got a report from that vet stating that she was extremely skinny and showing signs of jaundice could be the start of liver disease. Well Auberge Zen said I would have to do a blood test to find out and if she was sick they would refund my money. Called my vet cost would be $79.00 for evaluation and $189.00 for blood test. So I would get a refund of my $200.00 I paid for her but they would not pay for the blood test. Very nice so now I;m stuck to pay for the tests and if it came out that she is fine I don't get a refund but get to keep the cat at a total cost of $200.00 plus $50.00 for pain meds plus $79.00 plus $189.00 when they should never have sold this cat to me before they were sure she was in good health. So if you want to pay over $500.00 for a cat go see them

I adopted my cat Dixie, at this shelter. As a first impression the place smells like cat piss and it does not smell clean at all. I saw my cat caged in a furrets cage and she was very scared of people. The staff was very rude. It took me and my partner over 30 minutes before getting to talk with someone from the staff.. The price for the animals are okay, considering all of the vaccines and sterilization that comes with it. The adoption was fast and we got to do her vaccines very fast as well. I came back few days ago so that my cat could get her vaccines and the staff was very RUDE towards me. In general the place isn't so bad. I think they need more staff and the place should be more clean so it's more livable for the animals.

!!! CRUEL PEOPLE !!! I adopted a cat there around november of 2020. Previously having owned a cat, I kinda knew what to expect in terms of adoption, care, service, etc. When going to this "rejuge", the place looked neglected. They tell me only one cat is left. When they bring me to see her she was so extremely skinny and lethargic on top of having an eye infection but they told me that the vet saw her 2 days prior and confirmed she was healthy aside from her right eye which is easily treatable and I can do it myself. The poor thing was malnourished and seemed to not know how to eat (Couldn't swallow food AND water) probably from being taken away from the mother too soon..? Despite my efforts, SHE ENDED UP DYING 3 DAYS after I got get. I called and left them a multiple messages the morning after to inform them and never got a call back but considering they were opening at 1pm I simply showed up there and they WOULDN'T OPEN THE DOOR at which point I continuously knocked and the younger woman working there opened and hesitated to let me in "ah yes we are open but no not really right now" she said as they were working ... Their policy/contract states that they'll give you back your money if the pet dies within the FIRST WEEK so beaware they are scammers, I would give this buisness 0 starts if I could!

I called to have more information about volunteering, receptionist was rude, didn’t let me explain/talk and provided answers without actually listening to me. Really disappointed in the service.

One year ago, I had just lost my beautiful dog Gracy , a 3 pound chihuahua of 12 years of age from cancer, and one year before that my 13 yo chihuahua from heart failure besides treatment. I was devastated. All my dogs come from refuges. Eventhough a dog doesn't replace another dog, I was actively looking for a small dog to whom I could give love, and receive. I've had dogs all my life and work for the protection of animals. Zen refuge were the one to bring me this immense joy when I adopted Picapica, my chihuahua of 5 years old. They are doing an amazing job and would encourage anyone "responsible " who wish to add a furbaby to their home to contact them. I've had Picapica for a year now, and it's still love at first sight. Thanks a million zen refuge for your excellent job!

I adopted my kitty here, clerk was nice to us and I like the fact they have a nice small space for all the kittens to play and be active. Definitely a lot more choice here for young cats than other places we visited. We got all his papers, vaccines certificates and appointment to spay him and install microchip. I'm really happy with my new baby!
