Roseridge Regional Landfill is fully designed and operated as an environmentally secure landfill, with a detailed operating plan and a stringent environmental monitoring program.
- In operation since 1980.
- Receives approximately 70,000 tonnes of municipal solid waste annually
- The Roseridge Waste Management Services Commission is a partnership between six municipalities to provide a region-wide essential service. The members are the Towns of Bon Accord, Morinville, Gibbons, Redwater, Legal and Sturgeon County.
- Each municipality elects a director to serve on the Board.
- The Roseridge Waste Management Services Commission has the authority to establish policies and procedures required to support proper waste disposal at the landfill site.
The Commission
- Receives Provincial approval to operate facility.
- Financially responsible for operation.
- Establishes and enforces site rules and regulations
- Issues all commercial permits.
The Municipality
- Issues residential permits to constituents.
- Establishes maximum amounts of waste that each resident can dispose of annually.
- Establishes fees for waste over the annual limit.
Only residents of the member municipalities within Sturgeon County are granted landfill privileges.
- Valid landfill permits must be displayed upon entry to the landfill.
- Residents of Lancaster Park must show proof of residency every time to access Landfill.
