2022 Municipal & School Board Elections
Municipal Elections in Ontario are held every four years on the fourth Monday of October. The next municipal election will be held Monday, October 24, 2022. The last municipal election was held on October 22, 2018 and under the Municipal Elections Act, 1996, the four-year term of office for the current council and school board trustees began December 1, 2018, and ends November 14, 2022.
The following individuals have filed nomination papers with the Municipal Office. The nominees listed below are not official candidates until the Clerk has certified their nomination. This list will updated regularly.

How to Become a Candidate
Prior to the deadline, an individual can become a candidate by filing the following information with the Returning Officer, beginning May 2, 2022 during regular business hours:
- the prescribed Nomination Paper form
- a completed Consent to Release Personal Information
- the prescribed nomination filing fee of $200 for the office of Mayor and $100 for the office of Councillor
The candidate or the agent filing the nomination form was required to present proof of identity. Nomination forms could be submitted up until Friday, August 19, 2022 at 2:00pm.

Persons Eligible to Vote
A person is entitled to be an elector at an election held in a local municipality if, on voting day, he or she,
(a) resides in the local municipality or is the owner or tenant of land there, or the spouse of such owner or tenant;
(b) is a Canadian citizen;
(c) is at least 18 years old; and
(d) is not prohibited from voting under subsection (3) or otherwise by law. 2002, c. 17, Sched. D, s. 5 (2); 2005, c. 5, s. 46 (1).
Persons Prohibited from Voting
The following are prohibited from voting:
1. A person who is serving a sentence of imprisonment in a penal or correctional institution.
2. A corporation.
3. A person acting as executor or trustee or in any other representative capacity, except as a voting proxy in accordance with section 44.
4. A person who was convicted of the corrupt practice described in subsection 90 (3), if voting day in the current election is less than five years after voting day in the election in respect of which he or she was convicted.
Are You Registered to Vote?
You can check, update and confirm that your information is accurately recorded for upcoming municipal elections by visiting voterlookup.ca. You can login using your full name, date of birth and property address or assessment roll number.
The databases for municipal elections are separate from those used for provincial elections. This means that you must update your information through the Municipal Property Assessment Corporation (MPAC) for the municipal election. Updating this information will help to ensure that municipal Voters’ Lists are accurate and up-to-date in preparation for municipal and school board elections to be held in October 2022.
Please assist us by ensuring that you are on the Voters’ List long before October 24, 2022.

Deadline for candidates to file a nomination paper, withdraw a nomination, or change office.

β β β β β Enjoyed a great hike.The view from the top is amazing. Can see the whole city from the top.
It was only around 2.5km up and down..but one trail is really adventurous and have to climb sketchy areas. But it worth.
During summer, it is better to carry some bug spray or cream because there is a lot of mosquitos and flies.
