Smoke alarms that are properly installed and maintained play a vital role in preventing fire deaths and injuries in the event of a house fire. The S.A.F.E. (Smoke Alarm for Every) Family Program was developed in partnership with the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service, the Firefighters’ Burn Fund of Manitoba and Red River Mutual to help install smoke alarms in households across Winnipeg and save families from the tragedy of a major house fire. Amy has handled our claim quickly and professionally. I've had other nightmare claims in the past where the adjuster would go weeks at a time without communicating with us and I can't tell you what a pleasure this has been. For an insurance claim, lol

Red River Mutual is not a very responsive company when dealing with a customer with a claim. Our first contact with them was on July 11, 2019 with water damage to our floor caused by the A/C unit leaking over the electrical component of the furnace. This, in turn, prevented us from using the A/C through the hottest period of the summer. During the rest of the summer contact from Red River Mutual was nearly no existent. At this time (September 24, 2019) we are still waiting to receive a formal response from them as to what is to be covered under the insurance policy.

I have paid policy for years with this company and have asked several times if I was covered for thief since there has been a increase in area, was reassured. Then when I need to make claim was denied ( no coverage for thief). Will be canceling policy and advice other to question what they are paying for.

Customer service was amazing the entire time!!! Our claim against theft was not paid out, only because, luckily, most of our belongings were returned to us from the Winnipeg Police. During one of the most frustrating, and life altering situations we as a family have ever had to go thru, there was someone at a insurance agency who listened, answered, offered compassion, and wonderful advice at every single email and phone call. I hope to never have to deal with a situation like this again, but should we have to, I would be very grateful to have someone like Joyce, and Red River Mutual offering their support and knowledge! Highly recommend!!!

We had a comprehensive home policy with glass coverage with a $50 deductible. Our patio door glass broke and filed a claim with Red River and promptly got a call from Joyce Kroeker. They sent out an company they deal with to do an estimate was close to $950 to replace only the one sealed unit within the door. They won't replace the whole door. I asked how this would affect my rates given I was making a claim. I'd apparently loose my claim free discount in the amount of $1200 over 3 years to receive a benefit. So in a nutshell I have to pay another $1200 to get my $950 covered. I paid years into a glass policy which was of absolutely zero benefit and in fact negative. Get a separate policy for glass from Peace Hills insurance and don't waste your money on Red River's glass policy. I feel so ripped off. You pay into insurance, they're happy to take your money and you get nothing in return. Consumers beware of Red River's glass policy which is useless.

After signing up with a certain broker not gonna mention any names but I was reassured that I would get the best possible rate throughout Manitoba after signing up with them for one year at the cost of $1600 I found another insurance company that was $600 less after trying to cancel my claim by verbal call I was told I’d have to come in and sign some papers which is in a different town not being able to make it on time I Received a bill from red river mutual saying there was a balance of $391 my broker said she would look after it and I keep receiving register letters saying the balance is due and there was also a $40 charge for cancelling the policy again my broker went up to bat for me I would never recommend red River mutual for trying to punish me after making $1600 for doing nothing For changing insurance companies

The absolute worst company in the world to use for insurance!! If you value your house, garage or anything else. PLEASE DON'T USE THIS COMPANY. HAD I HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO GIVE A ZERO, I WOULD HAVE!!!!!!! Unprofessional, late in responding, doesn't have answers to your questions and kid's screaming in the background.

Not very responsive. I have emailed my insurance rep seven times and have not even gotten an acknowledgement that she received my pictures /documents or that my file is being worked on. As someone who has never had to use home insurance I feel very disappointed in this company's customer service and will not be renewing my policy with them.
