sleazy scumbags sending letters to companies, having no clue whether or not companies even have music in their shop, then sending invoices to extort money. if you are a music artist and believe going after business in this matter is acceptable, please leave you name so we can boycott your music. As for this company, you are no better then collection agencies.

For those businesses who seem to think they can selectively avoid paying for their use of copyrighted material -- you can't. That's why we have copyright law. Re:Sound does incredible work for all artists, and I highly appreciate that they do.

I’m so glad that Re:sound is able to collect and destribute the neighbouring rights royalties for musicians. The musicians have put in the work and it’s only fair that they be compensated when businesses/events use that music to bolster their profits.

So many fake reviews for a scam company. Ineven got a call from them for a payment. I play music through paid music company in my restaruant. I am in bussiness for 25years in canada and never ever asked to pay money for the music i play in the restaruant. I called the police to report this but unfortunately they told me that only if i lost money they will investigate. Too bad. You guys should find some other ways to make money doing right bussiness...not to cheat on other people. I run a restaurant in waterloo. You guys really should stop cheating on other people. Getting bunch of fake revews wont help. You think people are stupid? Restaruant owners who are reading this please be careful not to waste money on this scam companey. Thank you.

Next up: "Paintings and decorations generate value in your store, so pay us for a license to use those. Oh, and your toilets generate value too. So pay us for the right to flush them at your place. What's that? No, your painter and plumber aren't signed up with us and we have no idea who they are, so we'll just go ahead and send the money to someone completely unrelated to your business instead." Thanks for nothing, Re:Sound.

I'm so grateful to Re:sound for the work they do to advocate for copyright fairness! Having been both a musician who deserves to collect the copyright proceeds from a business benefitting from playing my tunes, and a former server at a venue who refused to pay these copyrights, I've seen how little appreciation the folks at Re:sound get for their very important work.

Re:Sound doesn't represent individual artists they choose, it is used by thousands of artists and music companies to collect what they are entitled to. They work in close releationship with the Copyright Board of Canada and have a specific process. Read their website and don’t be fooled by some of these other comments. Music being played in a business (no matter in what use - unless for educational or other exemptions) is for the benefit of the business and therefore is something that needs to be paid for. If you don’t like it - don’t play music in your place of work. It’s not free to use music as you please if it benefits your business.
