Bar none, the Royal Bank on Bayfield street in Barrie has delivered the absolute worst customer experience I have ever had. Given multiple opportunities to see the situation from my side of things they have done nothing to try to justify their actions. The two managers, Crystal and David have delivered nothing but policy and limitations where a person with lesser authority had managed to provide satisfaction on my very first visit to the bank. I am sorely dissappointed in their arbitrary and inconsistent application of policy. Their absolutely horrible attitudes. Their unwillingness to put any effort into rectifying the situation. And their lack of remorse for the multiple uncomfortable situations they are causing me, through no fault of my own, for expecting the same treatment the second time in, that I was given the first time in. Currently, they have no hope of retaining my business account. And what is currently at stake is my determination or not, to malign the Royal bank and their poor (to use only civil language) customer service and customer care, for the rest of my life, to ever person with whom the subject of banking comes up. (yes I am disgruntled, not my fault....squarely on Crystal and David, co-bank managers of little or no authority or customer service skills). Call back from David, full of "blah blah" and no substance, no amends, no effort at satisfaction. Will never speak well of this branch, or the Royal Bank in general. Business owners be advised, there is much better customer service available, than RBC on Bayfield St in Barrie.

I have been an RBC customer for well over 30 years and have never received such rude treatment as I did at this branch. We talked to someone regarding refinancing our mortgage but she was so condescending that we asked to deal with someone else. The second woman was not much better. I understand that because I am self employed we do not fit their lending criteria. I can accept that but to treat customers as rudely as I was is terrible. RBC is a fine bank, just do not go to the branch at 53 Bayfield St lest you be stuck dealing with either of these two women. Use a different branch. We did move our mortgage as another bank was more than willing to lend us the money.

Echo jaretts first sentence This place has awful customer service. I am starting to think it is just an exclusive issue with Barrie financial institution. Never had such a problems trying to get information or book an appointment.

I’m giving 2 stars because this place is really a hit or miss with the staff. I had an amazing staff member help me yesterday. I’ve had way too many negative experiences here though. One employee was extremely rude to me when I was getting change for my cash flow. She and the other employee beside her cackled when I asked for a roll of loonies and quarters. I have zero interest in being made to feel small. She proceeded to tell me that RBC was giving away $300.00. If I opened an account she would give me $300.00 as if I desperately needed the money. I said no thank you and she laughed again and said β€œyou don’t want $300.00?!” I calmly told her I did not want it from her specifically. I felt really confused as to what was so funny this whole time. It’s not cool to make people feel small though. I’ll be phoning in to complain about this. Also, they are very, very slow at this location. The one upside is that they do have cash.

I would actually give my review half a star if I could. I have been a client with Royal Bank since the early 80's and only just last week I treated so quite rudely but a bank teller/advisor. Because of him I plan to pull out of Royal Bank and transfer somewhere else in Barrie. I don't even want to step foot in that bank ever again or a Royal Bank for that matter for how I was treated. I am a mature student working at a great job and I am settled in this city and I will make sure I let all know about my experience with this bank.

Be prepared to wait 45 mins minimum as 2 staff members casually work through typically a lineup of 10 clients. I can never understand how a multi billion dollar corporation cant afford to hire proper staff to serve their clients better. Worst bank ever...

I have to ask what the point of paying service fees if you can't access the facility and make a deposit? It appears that locking this doors to their customers is their manner in which they conduct business. If its a problem regarding humans using the vestibules as shelter then that an issue that need a better solution while not locking out your clients and eliminating access to the ATM machines. Please do better and don't inconvenience your clients because of issues the facility might face.
