one of the worst self directed investment platforms. dont even sign up. there are onstant breakdowns on the platform, u cannot even sign in. then messages of system server errors appear when u finally are logged in. this week every day had an issue with the servers. slow and useless. i m getting my accts. organized to transfer to the TD trading platform. i had enough with RBC. They apologize but never upgrade the system. prefer to charge interest and fees while the client loses out.

One of the first reviews I am posting, but I had to speak out. Worst experience at a financial institution I've ever had. Called them, was on the phone on hold for 2 hours. Then spoke to "Michael" who was obnoxious and clearly had a chip on his shoulder because he was working in finance. I got news for you Michael working at a call center is not working in finance. He informed me that I do not qualify for one of their accounts despite me having the same type of account at RBC. Michael had no arguments other than to say each financial institution has its own policy. I will be writing a formal complaint too and trying to take it further, but only for the sake of making their lives difficult. I have just moved all my investment and savings accounts from RBC. Thanks Michael!

I normally don't like writing bad reviews but it doesn't get any worse than this in terms of service. I've been waiting over a month have money transferred from my RBC RRSP account to my RBC Direct Investing RRSP account. Hold times are over an hour which is fine but then I get someone on the phone and they cannot do anything. I try to escalate and before you know it it's been 3 hours and still nobody can help. Even worse... I've done this exercise 3 times now. How is it when someone is trying to put over 20k into a new RBC account that you cannot help? I get Covid is hurting but this bad? Come on guys.

Be patient if you need to contact them. As they don't have a chat option (like Questrade for example), and emails take 48 hours to be replied, the only option you have to contact them is by phone... it took me 1 hour 15 minutes yesterday and today I've been waiting for 1 hour and 40 minutes while I listen repeatedly "your call is important for us". That's just ridiculous! The transactions are more expensive than other direct investing providers and the service is terrible. Those waiting time does not make any sense and there is no point to trying to reach them by email.

During the Pandemic time, I've tried to call at least 3 times and failed to reach the IR, the average waiting time on the phone is about 4 hours, nobody answered the phone and the record kept saying "waiting time longer than normal and we apologize for the inconvenience." Can the management team seriously consider to improve the calling waiting time, maybe hire more IRs and improve the phone system? As one of the biggest bank in Canada with so much capital, the management team did not take any action and review/listen to customers' feedback and the customer service in Direct Investing is really bad. The apology is NOT acceptable.

Terrible service; 9.95$ per transaction AND they charge 25$/Quarter fee for doing absolutely nothing. They steal from the poor to make themselves richer! Avoid this like the plague it was the worst year of my life dealing with these criminals, I wish everyone would withdraw their investments to show them we won't accept financial abuse.

Legit the worst customer service you could ever ask for. No one cares ever a little. Make you wait on hold for hours. Switching out to wealthsimple.

Yep closed at 5 great service..... Not. IB and TD always open that is why I'm transferring all of my money out. Your loss their gain that is why your tanking and going down.
