If you wanna hike around the lake, read note below. Only second time visiting here, first time was ok but after this visit, as much as I would like to rate higher, the trails were poorly maintained, with fallen trees in multiple places all around lake, smell of sewage/manure along most of west side, and sewage or possibly even some chemicals being also drained from properties up above the east side. Oh and someone was having a bonfire on east side of the lake, smoking up the trail (it was wet and no visible fire, so couldn't have been a forest fire) Note that you if you would like to hike the loop around the lake and start here, it's not possible. Hairsine bridge has supposedly been damaged almost a decade ago according to a local. You will not find a sign about it at the car park here, in fact the first sign stating that will be facing you when you've completed about 3/4 of the loop. There is a sign at the northern car park, but you'd only notice it going south because why should important information like that be visible to you when you're going in the direction that requires it.

2 tiny sand beaches, can be very packed in the weekends. The trails uphill are untamed so you should be alert for wild animals. Not many facilities being built in the area.

Cute trail. Most of the trail is blocked off due to an avalanche.

The hike between Hayward Park and Ruskin Dam starts off easy and flat, with mostly the lake view. Half way in, there will be steep climbs into the woods, but not for very long. Overall, it's an easy hike. It was quiet and not crowded at all.

Great hike for those who like multiple terrains. Lots of place to stop and enjoy the peace of the lake. Our final destination was the dog off leash beach. It was lovely. Places to replenish your water on a hot day. Lots of activity in the lake. Water boards, floatation devices and kayaks. Nothing motorized, so peaceful. Most people on the trail were courteous.

Nice fall colours, easy walking through most, very few places to access the lake, will go again in winter

Pretty great hiking trail. It's long, but an easy hike that takes you around the breathtaking lake. It's also a plus that there are multiple beaches to cool down at after a long hike.

Beautiful area to walk, keep in mind steep incline coming back to the parking area, other than that it's pretty moderate to flat surface and lots too see. A small beach at the bottom with garbage can and even a Johnny on the spot!
