I have had approx 6 dealings with BGH over the last few years. The common denominator here is that there is a proud culture of caring, empathetic, organized and well trained staff. Speaking specifically (anyway) to the admitting personnel at Sills on over to the day Surgery folks- both mine and my wife's experiences were nothing short of stellar! You are not just a number at BGH. The human caring element is prevalent with all staff! Even with the pandemic, navigation thru the added procedures was very easy. Cleanliness was not a worry and I have zero concerns about exposure. I can say I would go out of my way to attend this hospital based on my (and my wife's) experiences.

Terrible staff. Very unprofessional and emotionally abusive. Unable to communicate with family properly. Making up their hospital protocols as they go. Allowed care partnered on 4th hospital day, and then never again. Tried to blame my mother's illness she's been in and out of hospital for since December on covid!!! Witness a nurse who wasn't aware I was on the phone with my mother tell her she should be ashamed of her self! Nurses constantly lie on the phone Dr's refuse to call next of kin with updates my mother is hilucinating they allowed her to sign herself out. She was home for 1 day before we eneded up taking her to napanee where they've been amazing

I'd like to thank all the staff for the excellent care I recently received. For those wondering, yes this is a busy hospital and I'm sure they'd love to have more staff and shorter wait times. However, they're facing the same challenges with Covid staffing as everywhere else. Despite covid challenges everyone that was involved in looking after me did so with a caring, positive and friendly attitude. Thanks again for everything you do each and every day.

I had a day surgery here yesterday. It’s my first time having a procedure done here in Canada and the hospitalization culture is extremely different from where I came from. The whole crew was beyond helpful and took great care of me. The surgeon (Dr. Turvey), the anesthesiologist (Dr. John—I didn’t get his surname), and the rest of the staff (from pre-op, the OR nurses especially Ms. Denise who took care of me the whole time and her “trainee”, as well as Ms. Linda from the room where I waited to be picked up)—they all made me feel comfortable and did impeccable job to calm my nerves. I can’t say enough good things about them! If ever you read this, you people rock! Thank you for bringing positive impact to the community!

Delivered my first baby here last year in August and the staff in the maternity ward were AMAZING. I cannot thank them enough for their kind and caring level of care. And I genuinely look forward to seeing them again in October for our second. On the other hand, my 8 month old I delivered then, is now is very sick and we took him into the emergency room almost 5 hours ago now. This is not a new issue, BGH has been so unbelievably awful with their wait times way before the Covid-19 pandemic. Why we chose to bring him here today I don’t know. I highly recommend going to the Picton or Trenton emerge room as an alternative. At least if they transfer you you’ll be admitted immediately. Signed a very tired and very sick little boy.

The staff on maternity are beyond amazing and friendly. They make you feel so welcomed and cared for. My nurse tonight was Sheena, she was beyond amazing. Truly thankful for her. I went in very worried and anxious in pain with my baby and she distracted me and made me laugh. Very knowledgeable and lets you know about everything going on, explains, etc. The doctor was Emily Stern and she was fantastic as well. Made me feel better for when I deliver my precious baby here.?❤️ Thank you

I had to hobble down the stairs from the parking lot to the Sills entrance, and had a difficult time with an immobilized knee brace attached to my leg… Little did I know, one of the staff members happened to see me taking my time and proceeded to grab me a wheelchair! Not only did he grab me a chair, he took me to the front and had mentioned he had seen me coming down the stairs…… so he quickly made his way to grab me a chair, and meet me at the door. How thoughtful is that? Such service from this gentleman.. Once he had wheeled me to the front, I was greeted by a woman who had to screen me. She took me to another location and along the way, was friendly and personable. It was a breath of fresh air under these unprecedented times. I had a wonderful experience and did not expect to be treated with such care and concern. Thank you for providing quality service to me. To the men and women of QHC Sills Wing - Thank you for all you do. You have made my experience, an excellent one. 5 stars for customer service, quality care, and concern, professionalism and friendliness.
