★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Wonderful hospital. The NURSES ARE GREAT! I brought my 9 year old grandson in as he had a sore throat and high fevers. Turned out he had strep. The nurse called me 4 times today to check up on Shawn and give me advice. I got called to bring him in for some more testing. These ER nurses go above and beyond to show dedication and commitment to the patients. Yes! Sometimes their is a wait time ( someone could be sicker than you) or an emergency has come up that is life threatening. Also, I have had a nurse speak to me in a frustrated tone and in fairness I've given it back....What we don't see is these nurses might have missed there lunch, or break because the ER is busy or an emergency has happened. WNGH is the best hospital I've been to up North. These nurses and doctors don't get enough credit. Thank you WNGH for the great care that you provide for my family. Keep up the good work.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I've been to all sorts of hospitals. The wait is usually 5+ hours even with a serious problem, and I've had family in other near by hospitals be turned away without testing for obvious problems (listing face on one side, slurred speech, poor coordination) and turned out they had a stroke and went without treatment.
The doctors and nurses in the WNGH are very knowledgeable, they are compassionate, and do their job properly. They run tests to err on the side of caution, and treat people fairly. And even notify them of possible serious issues that other hospitals near by did not.
And it must be said that my average wait time is 1-2 hours from start to finish.
Thank you for the kind and compassionate care that you have offered myself and my mother over the last few years. We travel from out of town to your hospital because we know we will be treated properly and with honesty and integrity.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Honestly the staff are great but there are never any doctors available. Most of the time when I have to come here I'm waiting for a good 3-4 hours before someone even sees me. Then I'm in a room for another 3 hours until the single doctor in the entire building can see me for 30 seconds and leave again.
The issue lies not with the staff but the lack thereof. If Sturgeon Falls general cant keep enough doctors on hand to help the people in the city, the hospital should be shut down and patients routed to north bay general. I actually feel more nervous about coming to this hospital than I should because I know I'll be left alone in pain for half the day before being sent out without a permanent solution.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I swear the staff want this hospital to be shut down, their waits are ridiculous. The one time I was there in an empty emergency waiting room, and the nurse told me that the doctor will see me in a few minutes. She then returned a few minutes later to tell the doctor wants patients to wait at least 2 hours before he will see them, so he went for lunch. Go to north bay the 30 minute drive will save you hours and possibly your life if it's something serious. This is a basic first aid station.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Receptionists act like I was invisible. A simple hi I'll be right with you would go a long way. Instead they talk to their employees and God knows what. I don't mind waiting but atleast agnowledge my presence so that I know I'm being taken care of

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Wait time is absolutely ridiculous no reason for it. Also they don't seem to prioritize the patients by severity. Brought my 2yr old son which had a possible concussion they took vitals and made me wait in the waiting room didn't even check his eyes. He kept falling asleep so I asked them what I should do they told me wake him up everyevery half hr. After 2.5hrs with not seeing the doctor I went home and treated as if he had a concussion and woke him up every hour.
