We're a Canadian chocolatier with a rich history.
Our founder, Richard Carmon Purdy, started selling homemade chocolates in downtown Vancouver, Canada in 1907. After 100+ years of crafting fine chocolates, you get to know a thing or two about doing it right.
At Purdys, everyone - from our chocolatiers to our in-shop chocolate connoisseurs - is always inspired to take you away from the ordinary. We source premium-quality ingredients from around the world, and choose local options whenever possible. We never compromise on quality, and you bet you can taste it.
Our chocolates are made with sustainable cocoa. We pay a premium for sustainable cocoa to ensure our farmer partners and co-ops are supported by programs that improve their profit and the livelihoods of their families. It's really quite simple, it's a choice we've made because it's the right choice to make.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Although the chocolate is great, I was disappointed. My friend and I went here for ice cream. My friend has serious allergies so we wanted to make sure they could eat it first. Purdy's had just recently changed out their ice cream and had no ingredients or allergy book on hand. Not only is this inconvenient, it is dangerous when an employee is unable to tell their customers what is in any of the ice cream. A disappointing experience.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The company invests in the lives of their cocoa providers, so it's a very sustainable product that's sourced ethically which makes it a less guilty pleasure. Good quality, although the lineup of treats changes a lot whether it be chocolates or ice cream so the next time you're in they may not have your favorite anymore. Also heard rumors about the manager firing people who didn't have the same views as themself which is unsavory.
