I had driven three hours and chose to take my 6 year old Doberman to pulse on Friday evening, after dealing with our local vet (felt as though we were not taken care of here appropriately) and her rapidly deteriorating in a few hours. They are a emergency vet clinic and took my Reign in immediately. The team on nights was absolutely amazing and caring, they listened to me and my concerns and kept me updated on my dog. The vet phoned and updated me on my dogs status and prognosis and explained things to me very well. She helped stabilize my dog so I could bring home to spend her last day with our family. As far as the emergency vet fees I think they are absolutely reasonable and Pulse provides you with options and their are no hidden fees. Dr Hanak and the night team I can’t thank you enough for everything you did for Reign even though her prognosis was poor you guys took care of my child and I will be forever grateful for your care and Chelsea the RVT in the morning was so kind and lovely! I would recommend pulse 100%

I was referred to Pulse Vet by my veterinarian due to my dogs chronic cough. It’s been lovely to work with the team and Dr Cyrus! I love how Dr Cyrus keeps me updated as soon as the test results are in, and talks with me about the pros and cons of various investigations and treatment options. All the staff members have been awesome to work with and are very helpful by answering my questions promptly when I email or call in.

Everyone knows that vets are expensive; however Pulse follows he fee guidelines recommended by the Veterinary Medical Association; given this is a 24 hour emergency Vet clinic I expected much higher fees than I was charged when my “older” dog showed signs of infection. The clinic staff are busy - almost all the time, but I’ve always felt welcomed and I’ve been treated with warmth and professionalism; I’ve felt front end staff as well as the doctors are professional, responsible, patient and listening to me even when I’m crazy scared for my pet. I am very grateful that this clean, new, well supplied clinic is closer to me than the Edmonton clinic. I trust the doctors here as much as I trust my regular vet to do what’s right for my pets.

Our dog was referred to see the neurologist Dr. Casey Smith for his uncontrollable epileptic seizures. We took him to see Dr. Casey in January. Reception was pleasant and easy to communicate with. Dr. Casey was very knowledgeable and had a good rapport. She was easy to speak with. Our appointment wasn’t rushed and I was able to ask many questions. So far his treatment plan that she recommended has been successful. It’s too early to say if it will be successful long term but definitely hopeful. At no time were unnecessary tests suggested. She was very professional and overall it was a positive experience. I am happy our vet referred our dog to see her.

Took our 14 month bernedoodle to get porcupine needles removed after I tried myself and he would not have it. I then read I shouldn't have tried and felt terrible but no one at Pulse made me feel bad and everyone was kind and considerate and explained everything. They did need to sedate my dog to pull them out which made sense. So yes it did cost just over $500 but given how distressed he was, to me as someone who could afford it, it was worth it and they didn't proceed until I was fully aware of the cost. Would definitely take my dog back there if he needed (hopefully not any time soon!).

My cat had an ureteral obstruction. The staff at Pulse were really quick to admit my cat, diagnose him, and start treatment. They called me a few times per day to give me updates, and everyone I spoke to was informative, polite, and happy to answer questions. They even emailed me a photo of my cat when he had to stay overnight, which my daughter and I really appreciated! It was a scary experience to bring my pet to an emergency vet, but the staff at Pulse kept it low-stress and bearable because I felt like my cat was in really good hands.

Friendly staff, good quality service. Wait time was 1 hour for my bunny to be seen on a Thursday afternoon. He was hospitalized for GI stasis overnight and came home the next day. Diagnosis and care instructions were explained clearly. He’s eating and moving around well today.

The worst experience possible. After arriving at Pulse on Sunday I had to call the vets from outside and explained that my dog had a severe nose bleed for 5 days. All tests had been done by our vet. Clotting medication was not working. And she was now bleeding profusely…..on the sidewalk, outside of the vets window. Receptionist said well I still need to take your information before I can admit her. So began the questions…what colour is your dog, is the dog spayed, who is your emergency contact…I was upset so she kept asking me to repeat the answers. When she told me not to snap at her, I hung up the phone. I was not rude once. I called Guardian, in the same emotional state (actually worse as I was so shocked and angry at the Pulse experience) and they met us as the door. Took Bramble to triage and took us to a comfort room (because yes we were crying) and then got our information. Our dog was euthanized that day as it was a nasal tumour that would not stop bleeding. We were with her at the end and Guardian were all that a pet owner could hope for in such as awful situation. Park Veterinary centre in Sherwood Park is our vet and each emergency with Bramble over the past 5 days was met with us being admitted immediately and being with Bramble. For Pulse to expect a person to answer questions (without snapping - her words) while I am standing outside the window crying with a dog whose nose is bleeding profusely is not the actions of a caring, responsive emergency vet.
