He went above and beyond to get my system installation done properly and in a timely manner eventhough it was a crawlspace job. Which I am sure was not pleasant for him. ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We are a 24 unit 20 year old condominium on Gabriola Island. We needed our first and second floor hallway fresh air fans and associated heaters replaced as the heaters were broken and the fans overly loud. After trying another company without success we contacted James Duffy based on a positive reference from a Nanaimo condo that had used his company.
James came over to observe our system, give us his ideas and create a quote for new equipment and improved installation. We liked his approach, communication [he listened to our needs!] and were impressed by his knowledge and experience and hired him immediately after he sent us a very reasonable estimate.
James did all the work himself, half of the time working in a cramped and uncomfortable environment. He replaced the old belt driven fans with direct drive ones and suspended all equipment in a greatly improved and much more effective manner which eliminated all noise and vibration. He performed far beyond our expectations and deserves a 10 out of 5 star rating.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It was so refreshing dealing with James, in an era when many businesses don’t bother returning your call, even if it was just to tell you that they are too busy to do your job, it is too small or there will be a 6 month wait. I was looking for a new furnace and central air conditioning system. I had called several companies and ProTempControl was the only one that actually came out to give me a quote. Three of them I never heard back from. James gave me a reasonable quote and I gave him the job because he showed up! Lucky me! He is professional, kind, reliable and didn’t mind answering all the questions I had. He addressed any concerns I had and recommended a great company to do the electrical work needed for the AC disconnect. I have only good things to say about him and his work.
