In 1983, brothers, Gene and Louis Dupuis purchased a small butcher shop on Ontario Avenue in Saskatoon. Prairie Meats quickly developed a reputation for personalized service and quality products. The local family butcher shop soon grew, and in 1990 Prairie Meats moved operations to the Millar Avenue location that still serves as the flagship retail store today. A new 50,000 sq ft state-of-the-art manufacturing and distribution facility was opened in 2006. Growth continued with the addition of community retail stores, expansion into Regina and most recently expansion into Prince Albert. Prairie Meats has truly become a hallmark company in the province of Saskatchewan.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My husband and called the store, asking if they would take a custom order for us, and they said that they would but we had to come in store to do so, which was fine. We went in and were told to come back in half an hour, as the manager on duty was on his lunch break. We came back later that day and asked if we could make a custom order, he took down our names and number on a post it note, and said they would call us later to see about a quote for our order. Days had passed, and no call back. We called them and asked about our order, they said they would have it ready before Thanksgiving weekend. Friday comes, waited for their call, and yet again nothing. We called them again, and they said that they wouldn't have it ready until Saturday. At this point I'm already annoyed by the lack of communication. Saturday comes and they hadn't called me yet again. Guess what. I waited and still hadn't heard a thing about my custom order. I am very disappointed. Will not go back.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ they have some stuff but not what I wanted. Tried to buy some burgers but they only sell large quantities at once. I didn't feel like I wanna pay 40$ for a box of burgers that I wasn't sure how good they are.
Otherwise staff is friendly, place is clean and location is good.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Amazingly fresh meats with a very wide variety thats frozen and non frozen. Very friendly staff thats really helpful. Asked if we would like our pork shoulder cutt and individually vacsealed for our convenience and was done no problem. Great Service!

The customer service today was beyond top notch. We will definitely be returning customers. Also thank you for the sample. It is very much appreciated.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Poor product and poor customer service. I have gotten one of the special large selection packs and some of the items were poorly vacuumed sealed. The meat wrecked when thawed in water.
I reached out to customer service and no really got back to me until almost a year later. I was offered some percentage off my next purchase. When I was wanted the items replaced. They really didn't care.
There are other good business around the area to support. Don't waste your time and energy.

Good selection of frozen items. I was really impressed with the snow beef burgers I purchased. The Saskatoon Spruce cheese is also available.
Store very clean.
