★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Tough experience to say the least! I was told quite a bit of misinformation when moving in to the apartment! When I first moved in I had to pay first month and last, normal procedures with most apartments however I was given a break and pro-rated for my first month for moving in mid-month. Great! However during my time there, they raised the rent over $100/month within a 1 year span without giving me any opportunity to contest that! I've been a great tenant, never missed a payment, always super quiet, never any trouble whatsoever and according to my resident manager my apartment is impeccable!
Now that I'm planning to move out the stories changed! I was told by my original resident manager(that's changed 3 times now) that I would only require 30 days notice when moving. Now apparently, I've given notice on Jan 15th, that I'm moving out Feb 28th and they say I require 2 months. And I can't give notice mid-month, it has to be the end of the month?! A little unfair if you ask me! If they at least worked with me and met me in the middle great, not in this case! And Amanda at head office seems to be of no help either! A bit rude over the phone and the only recommendation they have is to pay a $250 reassignment fee up-front and they'll try to rent the apartment! Why does that need to be paid up-front?! You already took $1300/month for a 2bed room apartment from me for over a 1.5yrs!
I was excited to move in originally however now after all this it just seems that Skyline is all about the money at the end of the day and don't really care about customer service. Disappointing :( Good luck to future renters. Just make sure you get everything in writing that your resident manager says!
