Ponoka & District Health Foundation exists to support and enhance health care at Ponoka Hospital Care Centre and Ponoka Community Health Centre.
About Ponoka & District Health Foundation
Background: A Working Committee, consisting of Larry Henkelman, Juanita Knight, Sandy Woodfin, Joan Van Wolde, secretary, & Dorothy Ungstad were involved for several years developing Bylaws, and seeking approval for the Foundation to exist. Credit is given to Hon. Gene Zwozdesky, Minister of Health & Wellness and Ray Prins, MLA Lacombe Ponoka, who both believed that fund raising was a local priority, not a provincial priority. Their support was critical to the organization of the Ponoka & District Health Foundation. On January 27, 2011, Alberta Health Services Board approved the formation of and Bylaws of the Ponoka & District Health Foundation. Ten (10) trustees were appointed, all from Ponoka.
