★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Long time customer here. My love for the atmosphere of play with clay has always brought me back. However my most recent experience was disappointing. The customer service quite bad, staff was unfriendly and impersonal. My friend and I felt confused and unwelcome from the moment we walked in. Staff was unable to provide confident responses to any of our inquiries, leaving us feeling unsure and making the experience stressful.

What a cool experience. Had the flatbread and their guacamole! Very well done, cocktails are freshly made and the bartender looked like he enjoyed his job. All the staff were very friendly and made our art experience one we will want to explore further. Next time we are booking a wheel lesson! Looking forward to visiting again.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Came with my kids to do pottery painting - it's always a good time! We painted outside at the tables around noon on a Monday and it was so lovely with the location being in the square. Shaded the entire time, which was excellent since it was so hot outside. The staff was super friendly and helpful, checking to make sure everything was okay and that we had everything we needed. It seemed there was a constant stream of people either painting or picking up their pieces but it never felt busy/crowded. Would highly recommend.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I went to the Clay Bar for a work party and the service and experience was incredible! There were 20 of us in the group and the staff at Play with Clay & the Clay Bar Guelph were extremely helpful and attentive. The food and drinks were delicious, the music was great and the painting of the pottery was a lot of fun. There are plenty of pottery pieces to choose from to paint and each of us found something unique to each of our personalities. There is such a great vibe and atmosphere at Play with Clay & the Clay Bar, that all of us said we would definitely go back. Thank you Nina and team at Play with Clay for such a great night.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I booked a night here at the clay bar as a surprise for my partner's birthday. The staff were super friendly and helpful, however when we arrived the staff had no idea we were coming. This was a surprise to me as I had booked over a month in advance, and then I had called again 2 weeks before the date to confirm the booking. Apparently the store owner had left without letting the staff know we had reservations. They also tried contacting the management but received no help. The whole night, the staff was trying to gather tables and materials for my group to use and we ended up waiting an hour just for a table to open in the clay bar. It took another 20 mins just to receive clay and drinks, and we hardly got instructions as the staff was super busy. The poor staff (one young girl and one man) were tying really hard to help us out and get us seated in time, they were very sweet and helpful. However the management was extremely disappointing, considering my partners birthday surprise was completely ruined even though I had called *twice* to confirm booking well in advance. I feel horrible that the staff had to run around, the young girl and the man who made our drinks were super sweet. However I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone as it is poorly run and unfortunately a waste of our money as we received hardly any instruction

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Went to Clay Bar for the first time for a friendship hangout. The staff were very helpful when we said it was our first time there, they gave us the breakdown and showed us to our table. Nina took care of us and it was the best service I’ve ever received, just very personable and fun and made the experience natural and welcoming. Kinda had home-vibes!
Great drink selection! And it is such an aesthetically pleasing space, I will be back for sure.

I have been going to Play With Clay in downtown Guelph for 7 years and I’m so glad they’re open and thriving. Not only do I enjoy personally working on paint projects and attending workshops, but I frequently bring friends and dates. Their at-home kits over the pandemic were such a gift!
As a one-to-one support worker this is an amazing to bring youth and adults on the spectrum and with development exceptionalities. It’s such a supportive and inclusive environment. The staff are wonderful and very willing to help or offer new techniques to try.
The new addition of the Clay Bar is so fab! It’s great to have two zones. One centred a around family friendly atmosphere and one that is clearly for adults (there’s a bar!!). I attended a Valentines Day workshop and it was an absolute blast.
What can I say?
The workshops are great.
The staff are kind and resourceful.
Mario the owner says hello to me every time I walk past the shop.
It’s a Guelph staple and I can’t recommend it enough.
