★ ★ ★ ★ ★ No atmosphere other than that of 40 yr old and looks it pub. Good food from adjoining cafe kitchen. Wings wednesday are a great deal. Staff are pleasant. Off sales of beer, wine and spirits.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The Pick & Shovel is an unbeatable pub. While living in Ashcroft, I visited every Wednesday for their wing night where they offer a ton of delicious flavours at a great price. Friendly staff and a good atmosphere make this place a must-visit.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Dated interior decor. Staff are very friendly. Food is nothing unique and priced about 2.00 over the norm for an entre. Short staffed before 5 pm on the day we reviewed.
Many cafes and pubs are upgrading their menus and specials with fresher healthier alternatives.. this pub hasn't gotten there yet. Many establishments have learned that spending time on fresh ingredients, rather than bulk Costco style frozen food can afford bigger profits for the business... catch is... you need to invest in properly trained chefs and not cooks. Might need to introduce locals to sample platters to alter old tastes to increase profits. Never saw any posters locally to promote the business.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Have a good meal at this pub. Great little town, very friendly people. Off the beaten path and a gem to discover. Visit year round as there is lots to do, lots to discover. Wing night is a great hit here and the rest of their menu is good too. Very friendly helpful staff and great service.
