Good selection and well stocked. Depending who is on shift, sometimes in attentive. I was ignored for quite a while as I wandered around looking for something. I deliberately waited to see if anyone would ask if I needed help. This was on 2 out of 4 occasions. The Manager was present.

Great store, you get great service (depending on who's working) Prices are a little high and they dont have many betta fish but pretty good for a Elliot Lake Pet Store

After 3 visits this will be my last one! The atmosphere there at the Elliot location is like a private club cloistered in the check out coup living in their own little world seemingly unconcerned and oblivious to customer needs or for their pets unlike some pet valu locations in the Soo ...another observation I noticed while there in the Elliot Lake location was that they were not busy whatsoever ..the main thing was to huddle in the coup which I first figured was due to covid restrictions but their attitude and indifference tells me otherwise..there is no excuse! ...that's the way they are regardless. In the Soo locations the staff were very attentive and friendly and real animal lovers as well, unlike here in the Elliot Lake store. It was always a pleasure to visit one particular pet valu location in the Soo which I will be returning to in the future ..I couldn't go past it without my dog going crazy with excitement because she knew where we were and the warm greeting she would be getting from the very friendly staff! ..what a difference! ..but here in this one at the Elliot lake location, they were impersonal and indifferent even when spoken to ..maybe it's a local thing I don't know but we got better reception at the vet's for gawd sakes! The citizens of Elliot Lake do not have much choice because they live so far from the nearest pet valu in the Soo .but I do! ..and will never again visit the Elliot Lake location. I blame the management directly for the cold business like attitude which may be good for business on paper but I spent no less than $75 this last time and more than $100 on average in the Soo locations so that's $ they will no longer get from me in the Elliot Lake location. The staff and leadership needs a real shakeup and retraining because bad attitudes and bad business practices are taught from the top and passed down to new hired personnel. I will also let the outlets in the Soo know as well about my negative experience(s) with Pet Valu in Elliot Lake. My advice to Pat Value businesses everywhere is to hire "animal lovers" who care exclusively ..your bottom line will be greater and you can take that to the bank!

They always call when they have received a shipment of blue horned worms! Always smiling and happy. Also very knowledgeable staff that can provide information and assistance to take care of our 4 legged family members ?
