Perrys' Great Northern Gun and Bow Shop

Home - Perrys' Great Northern Gun and Bow Shop - Perrysgunandbow.com

It started with a passion for firearms, hunting, and a handful of firearms for sale in the basement of a house in Sault Ste Marie, Ontario. Started by Jane and Reg Perry, now joined by daughter Lana, the business has been proudly family owned and operated for over 30 years.

I have bought several guns here and have had consistently bad experiences. I have bought new rifles and shotguns, as well as used shotguns. I have had issues with each and every gun and their service is sub-par, at best. I would not recommend buying from them. Additionally, their prices on both guns, ammunition, and accessories are outrageous.

Wonderful staff. I recently purchased a gun and they were very helpful. They have an assortment of guns for every budget and even financing options. They made sure I had everything I need and were very reasonable.they even verified the scope accuracy while I waited. Very impressed with their service.i will be shopping there again.

I’ve been supporting this store for over 36 years now (since 1984) and I’ve always been happy with their selection considering they are a smaller shop in Northern Ontario. Honestly, these folks are punching above their weight class and happy to be a customer. Over the years I’ve always purchased all kinds of ancillary kit , but this year of 2021, I was able to finally pull the trigger (Metaphor warning) on a firearm, and a NEW one at that. They had the inventory in stock. Their website showed the product was present, but I just could not believe they actually had such a firearm model. I called them and they were most helpful to make it all happen. Fast turnaround, surprisingly fast mailing through the Canada Post’s challenges of operating during a Global Pandemic. Warmest thanks to the staff and computer experts on hand in the SOO. Happy to be able to support you folks. Here’s a picture of the nice rig you sold me. Most joyful. Peace Be To Journey!

I would consider myself as a regular customer. I’m in there 3-5 times per year. I buy bow stuff, guns and ammo so I deal with pretty much everyone there. There is an old crotchety guy there but I usually wait for someone else to help me. LOL. Lana and the staff have always been good. Ordinary, everyday people. Great to go to a business like that nowadays. I like that type of atmosphere. Support local businesses!!!!!

Used to be the only place I would go to purchase a firearm.... unfortunately they have been slacking off badly...bought a restricted firearms about two months ago and have been calling once a week to see if it went through. Until today a new employee *bless him for checking properly, unlike the others* told me they had to refile the transfer because they did it wrong...wouldn't tell me what happened....but here I am out 2100$ and nothing to show for it...maybe after the summer is done....thanks guy, I won't be back. Update- Nothing was filed wrong, But I still have no idea why they would tell me they messed up the application when everything is fine. I was also told that they could call someone at the CFO to have the transfer go through faster. Which I found out was a LIE! they DO NOT have anyone to contact at the CFO another employee confirmed. Im starting to doubt if I'm going to actually pick up my purchase. Wish me luck getting a refund.

Spent $1800 buying a new gun, two new scopes, having them mounted and bought some ammunition. After 14 rounds through one of the scopes, and the mounts that they installed let loose and the scope fell off. After inspection of the $300+ scope, I noticed a small scratch on the bottom and realized the bolt was hitting it. I took the gun back into Perry’s and was told that it’s a “known issue” and that it’s my fault that it fell off. As per the scratch on the scope, I shouldn’t be “military slapping my bolt”. It’s a 30-06 bolt action hunting rifle and I’ve been shooting for 10+ years. I’ve gotten better customer service from the Canadian government and that’s not saying much. Lesson learned, go across the road where product is cheaper and they actually treat you like they want your business! If someone from Perry’s is reading this, I’m more than open to you guys contacting me and rectifying the issue. Until then, you have completely lost my business.
