I'm a beginner quilter so I like seeing finished quilts. This shop has many samples to view. They have a nice selection of fabric with great colours to coordinate. They have a variety of books to pick from. They carry patterns byAnnie - I enjoy coming to this shop. They also have free parking at the back.

They have a great selection of fabrics, books, and kits. Gorgeous location with lots of parking in the back and a lovely classroom space. However, some of the staff are quite useless. For instance, one woman spent a considerable amount of time arguing with me about the amount of batting I needed for one project because she thought that I was mistaken in my measurements (despite the fact that I had the pattern with me) and, in the end, sold it to me reluctantly. Others have argued with me about the size of cutting mats or rulers I should get (I have a small quilting area and can't fit a large mat), the type of thread I needed ("no one" does hand quilting with an 8 weight thread.... except the people who do?), and other matters. The last time we were in, my partner asked if they had any more of a particular fabric he needed to finish a kit he bought there. During the 20 minutes we'd been in the shop, the woman had never asked if we needed assistance (she only came by once to tell us when the the shop was closing, though she got the time wrong). When he tracked her down to ask about the fabric, she just replied, in a confused tone, "we only have what's on the shelf?" instead of suggesting other places in the store we might find it, or other options (like the four fat quarters of it we found hidden on a side shelf). Finally, I have never, ever gotten fabric that has been cut straight. On both fat quarters and cut yard, I've started adding an inch or two to my measurements so I will still have enough fabric by the time I cut it straight at home. I have gotten straight cuts of other shops, so I'm not sure why the staff care so little here.

The girls who both helped me were very helpful. I am a returning quilter after having taken a multi-decade quilting break! There is a great selection of tools, fabric, and quilting supplies in general.

Loved this store!! Was visiting from out of province and decided to go for a wander to see what they carried. I was overwhelmed with the selection they have! Great selection of both modern and more "tradition" type fabrics. Staff was very helpful - they had a ready to buy quilt kit that I loved the fabrics of, but wanted to use my own pattern. Staff went around the store and found all the fabrics from the bundle for me! I will definitely be going back next time I visit Saskatoon.

There is so much selection there! They have fat quarters/square quarters that you can buy so it is easier to see how all your fabric looks together and your shopping is done a little quicker. The staff is really knowledgable and helped me out a lot. Will be going back there again for any fabric needs. (*the bee fabric was not bought at this store but the 3 FQs were and are awesome!!)

Absolutely my favourite store. The selection of fabrics…the selection of tools and any thing you need to quilt and they also have other crafty things plus tons of magazines, books, sewing machines and patterns. Patti is kind and extremely helpful. The staff are all lovely and will go above and beyond. This is where I first learned to quilt and I haven’t looked back. Lots of classes year round and the highlight of the year is the quilting retreat located at the Shekinah Retreat Centre. If I could give these ladies and Bernie more stars I would? -Carol Collin Why Not Thrive Fitness #YXE

Enjoyed my experience at the shop but also the sewing retreat Patti organized! Made my first quilt kit.

We are very lucky to have a store like Periwinkle in Saskatoon. I love going here. Lots of selection; they get in all the 'good stuff'. Lots of variety of products, patterns and notions, too. Their staff are efficient, helpful, and knowledgeable. As someone who lives an hour outside Saskatoon, I appreciate their website and quick shipping, too. Online shopping is nice, but often you really need to see fabrics in person and this is the place to go.
