★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My visits to PRH for tests have been great. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming from the great volunteers to the techs, and of course nurses and doctors. We are very fortunate to have this wonderful facility in the SouthOkanagan!. Thank you to all.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Wife broke wrist 21/12/12 on ice. Staff very helpful and polite in ER. From start to finish only 4.5 hours to discharge. Half the time it would have been in UK! This post from a UK resident.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Was told by a doctor that I may be fainting due to low blood sugar. When I asked if I could go get something to eat, as I haven't eaten in hours because of all the waiting, I was told:
"I'm not here for you convenience, I'm here for your safety"
"You only have to wait 10 minutes, you won't starve to death."
And my favorite: "it's not a prison, you can leave anytime you want!"
So I think some bedside manner coaching is needed.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is the WORST hospital in BC, condescending and ignorant staff. Right from walking in the door to the very doctor you talk to, you're treated like garbage and noses are turned up way in the air.
Staff looks you up and down in disrespect and talks with attitude as if you're a toddler.
Someone should be reviewing this hospital and it's practices as they're stuck practicing elementary school judgments before any type of care!!!!!
Drive to Kelowna if you have any type of medical attention.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I've been here twice for kidney infections while pregnant. It's a mixed bag of treatment and I've found staff are either really good, or quite terrible. Unfortunately, my negative experiences outweigh the positive both I frequency and value.
Many have truly poor bedside manner. They are uncompassionate, unkind, dismissive of my needs, talk down to me. I have to repeatedly ask for my test results or what's going on. One of the worst times was when they were doing a test and it hurt alot, I had wanted to talk to her about my particular body part and it's unique sensitivity. I had said stop a few times and she didn't. Then she chastised me they'd have to redo the test if they don't get a good enough sample. I later found out that the sample had been obtained and I said "you'd told me you'd need to redo it" she said "I would have if I stopped when you said stop". When did no stop meaning no?
I know there is understaffing, and they're busy, but that does not fully excuse their rude care. I've done my best to be polite, and patient, and kind, and understanding, but I feel unvalued, unimportant, unheard, absolutely desolate. My life is in their hands and they act like I'm a piece of sludge.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Absolutely horrible reception. Our child had a seizure and they would not let our child in the waiting area because he wasnt wearing a mask. Medical exemptions dont matter apparently at the Penticton hospital. Shame on those people. Absolutely pathetic what has become of our health care system. What happened to humanity?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Two times now I’ve gone there 1. They misdiagnosed my partners hernia and then 2. Last night they refused to help me as I wouldn’t sit in a waiting room that had two Covid positive patients coughing in it…did not go in to clean…wiped down with a damp rag only no bleach spray nothing. I was refused medical treatment because I respectfully declined to sit in a Covid ward waiting area when I don’t have Covid at all. I will be contact a mal practice lawyer now because of this situation.
