About Peak to Prairie Physiotherapy
Who Are You?
I love being in the mountains, whether it’s skiing, hiking, or riding horses. Or even just staring out at the mountains as I drink my morning coffee. I’m also an amateur potter, a beginner golfer, and a not-very-good gardener.
I used to play a lot of team sports and pushed myself to be competitive. Several injuries later, I found myself trying to find more balance and wellness in my life. This is when I began to practice yoga and take a more restorative approach. My injuries and chronic pain also fueled my fire to learn more about the body. Since then, I've continued to study why and how injury happens and what we can do about it.
Why Physiotherapy?
I’ve always loved science, but especially the science of the human body. Growing up, my parents worked in Kinesiology and Physiotherapy. I ended up, not entirely on purpose, following in both of their footsteps. I love physiotherapy because I still find the human body and our capacity for healing to be fascinating. I also really enjoy being able to help people overcome their injury and pain.
What brought you to Pincher Creek?
While going to school in Calgary, I met a rancher. And the rest, as they say, is history. After I graduated, I was hired by Alberta Health Services as a Physiotherapist in the Crowsnest Pass, and then in Fort MacLeod. While working for AHS, I noticed a lack of private physiotherapy options available in Southern Alberta. I then began to dream about opening my own clinic, closer to my new home of Pincher Creek. I am so excited to open Peak to Prairie Physiotherapy!
