We just got home from a 3 day stay in Cabin #6. This was our first time here. The road we thought was fine. Bumpy, but if you just enjoy the drive and go very slow, it is fine. Fishing was great, cabin was clean. Neat little store in the lodge where you can buy art, treats, fishing tackle, other items you may have forgotten. We rented a boat and motor and toured around the lake. Neat islands all around. The best fishing for us was off the dock though :) We are booked in a Trapper cabin early September, we can't wait. Owners and staff were quite friendly and welcoming, thank you!

Have gone the last 4 years but won’t be going back. We had one cabin that smelt like sewage, the other cabin had no hot water. We also didn’t get the boat we booked we were told we would get a deal but once I left niki went a head and charged my visa for a boat she said she would give us a deal on.

Nice spot but today I called to ask if they had boat rentals available to which they said β€œyes plenty” what they forgot to mention was that they close from 12 - 2 during the day. Got there at 12:30 and came to see the shop was closed and I couldn’t rent a boat for fishing. Waited around until 2 when they were supposed to re open and was ready to go fishing but they never opened up and no one showed up. Once 2:30 passed I decided to cut my loses and drive home. Many other people were waiting around for some sort of customer service but no one could be found by anyone. Day wasted by lack of customer service and communication

Second time at Oyama Lake Eco Lodge and we are thoroughly impressed! We had a week of rest, relaxation and fishing on a pontoon boat and I actually caught a 23 inch fish! Loved the nature photography I was able to get of all the stunning surrounding islands. The service was great! Thank you again for such a wonderful time, your cabins are so cozy!

I can’t say enough about how amazing the staff are here! Circumstances out of my control made me stranded at the lodge for 7 extra days after my booking and it’s unreal how amazing everyone was. They made sure I had a place to stay, shared food, offered rides, and welcomed me in their community. The owner is absolutely lovely and goes above and beyond for everyone whenever possible. By the time I was able to leave I didn’t even want to! Not all of the staff speak english as their first language but admirably they do everything they can to connect and make you comfortable in whatever way they can! There are a group of dogs that live there and belong to the owners/staff and they are so cute and wonderful and well behaved. I’ll come back again and again. Couldn’t have had a better experience after such a devastating circumstance being stranded. A+ staff and environment and such cute, unique and comfy cabins!

What a beautiful place! That being said, it is quite the ride up as the road is not maintained after a certain point, is narrow in a few places, and quite bumpy. We have a two wheel drive Ford Focus and it had no issues. Just take it slow and you will be fine. We were in a spacious cabin with our two kids which was clean and self sufficient in terms of the kitchen and amenities. My only minor quip is our cabin was close to a generator which was a bit noisy when it was on though not to the point it was keeping us up at night. If you want quiet, this is the location! There is a hiking trail but it is some distance from the lodge and we did not walk it so I cannot comment. The lake is lovely and dotted with small islands. You can rent boats, canoes, kayaks, our son enjoyed the paddle boat. Next time I would like to go fishing for Rainbow Trout! Oh, bring water! The cabin's with running water get said water from the lake. Fine for washing your hands and dishes but not for drinking.

Love the lake and the resort initially, went there two years in a row but by the second visit, the resort was noticeably falling into neglect and disrepair, same goes for the boats (not reccomended). We rented the big cabin with hot water, we were there for four days and they never got the hot water running. The admittedly "unhandy" caretaker/lost Cali-hiker guy just kept trying to light the pilot but didn't call a repair person after the tenth try, and then didn't give a refund, just some free bags of ice. It seemed like he just kept putting it off, kinda like a stalling tactic. Especially since he mentioned problems with it before we arrived. The resort owners arrived on day two and weren't friendly. It appeared like they tolerated guests as opposed to welcomed them. The whole operation did not seem business-minded, but more like novices with minimal experience who just thought they would try their hand at owning (but not actually running) a rustic resort. Their dog(s) were as unfriendly as they were, allowed to wander loose, and crapped in people's campsites with impunity. The list goes on. It pains me to write this because our families loved the lake so much, it is a beautiful spot and the fishing was fun. We were going to make it an annual visit but couldn't bring ourselves to give money to people who just don't seem to care about or take pride in their property.

We had so much fun coming as a group here for march break… the lake was still frozen and the cabins were so cozy. The hosts are amazing. Thank you - we will be back and recommend to others!
