Three weeks ago I started a new training cycle which includes a combination of technical Olympic lifting work, Crossfit WODs, HITT and SIIT sessions, running stairs, cycling, hills at November Project Canada, plus sprint training and steady state fun runs. Even though I have two full rest day per week, I sometime train twice a day so recovery and rejuvenation plays a major role in helping to optimize the benefits of my training template and stay injury free. And at 54 years young – this would be a good thing! I recently started to see Marina at Optimal Therapeutic Massage in a hope that deep tissue massage therapy could be beneficial for speeding up the recovery process as well as to restore flexibility and range of motion to my body after years of sports and tight muscles. As a head and neck cancer survivor I also deal with chronic pain, stiffness in my neck and range of motion issues as a result of many radical surgeries, radiation treatments and stress. This is no doubt because of her amazing knowledge of the body and her ability to use different methods to get results that I have noticed benefits in my range of motion, recovery and pain reduction. I always leave my massage sessions feeling both energized and relaxed. Marina is knowledgeable, friendly and professional, making you feel at ease the minute she enters the room. She is an excellent communicator and passionate about her profession. She also intuitively knows where to focus and patiently works through the areas alleviating pain and muscle tightness. Since seeing Marina and incorporating RMT into my training recovery and rejuvenation, it has opened up a new path of training possibilities. I would recommended her to friends and family at every opportunity.
