Dr. Mao's skills of diagnosis and acupuncture are amazing. His prescriptions is magical as well. Strongly recommended. Price is a bit high, but worth to go. Trust me.

I wish I could give this business a ZERO star rating. Avoid Richard Mao. We had the unfortunate experience of being fake served by Richard Mao, who we went to see for a back pain issue. We were forced to pay for 'services' prior to any service being 'provided.' The consultation which was not thorough and came with no conversation/discussion about what the treatment regimen would be was provided only after payment and was brisk 20 minutes. Only a piece of paper which we gave to reception. Where we were told by reception to buy several $100 dollars worth of herbs. Which was a surprise since Richard Mao never discussed tea or herbs during the consultation only briefly and rushed as we went to reception. We declined purchase of the tea since we were seeking acupuncture to the back for back pain, which we had seen great success in the past with other acupuncture specialists. We then were forced to pre-pay for ONE acupuncture session of $90 which included a very poorly performed massage, (we have a regular massage professional we visit but wanted something that could out-perform what massage could not perform since it was not acupuncture) but the 'massage' that Richard gave seemed clumsy and provided no relief, it seemed like he had never given a massage before. Richard did not even use an appropriate amount of massage oil. Richard then used only 4 needles in the ankles for circulation. We waited expecting more discussion and treatment of the back and he disappeared. He did not communicate much about why he was doing what he was doing before he did anything. It was very confusing and frustrating. He spent very little time doing acupuncture which was why we went to him. Afterwards we called Richard back since we felt as though we were defrauded. Richard spoke on the telephone for well over 30 minutes with elaborate arguments and excuses for not explaining what he was doing, or why he didn't treat the back pain as requested, we requested a refund and he further talked in circles about why it was not policy to give refunds and made comments about our character as people due to our request. When we expressed how we felt victimised he further belittled us, even though we tried to tell him how upsetting it was he persisted that we left happy, which was not the case at all, we left in shock. It's not often you receive such poor service from people in any type of business, but the fact that Richard took more time to argue on the phone than he did put time and effort into treatment and discussing a treatment plan speaks volumes to the type of business he must be running out of this location. Toronto and Mississauga are full of practitioners in this field, this is one you should avoid.

Dr Mao is a true expert in the field. He is not over-zealous with needles during acupuncture sessions but only uses what is required to address the issue. With his help and the herbal remedies prescribed he has cleared up a persistent prostatitis. Thanks Dr Mao!

I went to see Richard for the first time yesterday for acupuncture for severe/chronic migraine headache combined with a cold. I had an ongoing migraine for 3 nights straight which was depriving me of sleep and my normal daily rountines. I felt terrible. I must add that i am also pregnant and did not want to take any medication that could possibly affect my babies. Dr. Mao was a life saver. After just the first needle i had immediate relief from the pressure and pain i was feeling. I felt like a new person. The entire session was about 30 minutes long with only 3 needles which did the trick. I was in disbelief. He is truly an expert and i will definitely be going back throughout my entire pregnancy and for any pains afterwards. I highly recommend him. Amazing!!!!

Dr. Mao is an excellent doctor. I had my lower back pain today. He gave me an acupuncture. The pain amazingly went away. His service, expertise and professionalism is great! I fully recommend him.
