The theory part of the course was educational and I learned a lot about the basics of survival. The practical day was one of my favourite experiences this whole year! We walked with Vitaliy and used what we learned in the theory part and what we have in nature to make our fire on a rainy day. We learned about the real-life challenges of how to use nature for our needs but in a respectful and sustainable ways. I'm definitely coming back for more courses - just need to practice my skills first!

Vitaliy has tremendous amount of knowledge and field experience which can be seen in his teaching. He is very patient, calm and respectful. I would highly recommend this course to people who are into hiking and camping as the skills I learned in this course will be extremely useful.

Vitaliy is very welcoming, knowledgable and passionate. You will feel comfortable (but make sure to dress warm, like really warm) and leave with a plethora of information and the desire to utilize the information and learn more. I will definitely be joining the novice day course.

I am an avid outdoors womyn and I was so impressed with all I learned yesterday. Vitaliy presents everything in a way that is very easy to understand and then follows up with great rationales as to how or why things should be done. Vitaliy's teachings are not book based but rather based on his personal experience. He works hard at getting the participants to give input into the session based on their own experiences but also does not let chatter take away from the session. Thank you Vitaliy for your commitment to ensuring people stay safe in the wilderness. I'm looking forward to seeing you again in the Novice program. I highly recommend this free course to anyone who is planning on spending any more than an hour out in the wilderness. It could save your life!

The free course was mostly discussion-based and less hands-on than I assume the paid courses are, but for a free course it was definitely time well spent. The instructor, Vitaliy, was personable and seemed passionate about what he was teaching.

Vitaliy is a great instructor and his personal experiences and passion for survival skills add a bit of reality to the whole course. As a complete novice, it was interesting for me to learn the very basics and Vitaliy was patient enough to walk me through the scenarios and help out with individual attention.

The course itself is fascinating - full of things that every human should learn. More importantly, the focus on developing your critical thinking skills can be applied to much more that just survival. I can only imagine how much kids would love his camps, but regardless of age, anyone would appreciate Vitaliy's engaging, passionate, thoughtful delivery of important life skills.

However, it was far more than just an introductory level as Vitaliy touches on so many things because survival is his passion. He is an excellent teacher, very respectful, calm, positive minded and a critical thinker. He is absolutely a wealth of knowledge. I decided to take the course as this type of information is something all of us should know if we are ever in a situation where we need to survive in the woods. This could happen to any of us at any time! This course would be appropriate for ALL ages, male or female.
