I do like shopping here. I do. My kid loves it too. For an active kid, second hand is the way to go. The issue I have with this store is the miserable staff. Would it kill you to help someone who needs to use the change room? Would it kill you to smile? Or when a child engages you in conversation, would it kill you to respond? Apparently being polite and pretending you enjoy your job is not in your job description. When I bring clothes in for consignment 99% are turned down due to being "stained or worn" or "out of style". HA! I have seen some of the garbage you have on your shelves. I even bought a pair of pants with stitched up holes in the rear. Hmm... I don't know if I will be back. The checkout always leaves me with a not so great experience. Work on your customer service skills. When you are on shift, put on a fake smile for goodness sake!

Well after all the stuff we bought from here since having our daughter in December. The only time we tried returning a box full of clothes all they took was a few brand new sleepers and shoes that we weren't ever gonna use...this store is great for buying stuff from but DON'T TRY SELLING ANYTHING TO THEM! They said the rest is too worn out and stained. Well we ain't selling clothes to them that we just bought our daughter for them to sell for cheaper if that's what they expect. My wife and I have seen stained clothing, unpaired clothing and broken baby items in the store that they are selling. The clothes we buy from them aren't brand new either... we'll continue buying clothes since it's cheap. But all we don't need we'll just drop it off somewhere else since they won't take it unless they can make a few bucks more off of.

So disappointed in the staff here. Was shopping there today when my two year old said β€œgo potty”. I asked the staff if she could use their washroom and was told in no uncertain terms that the washroom is closed due to covid restrictions - even though NONE of the staff were wearing masks and they only had plexiglass on 1/5 of the counter where the tills are. They directed us to go to the gas station down the street. The gas station had β€œno washroom” signs up, but let us use it anyways because they understand extenuating circumstances with a two year old. That said, we didn’t make it in time and my daughter had an accident, requiring a wardrobe change. You would think a store that caters specifically to children would understand that their clientele does not have the same bladder control as adults do and washrooms are important for these little ones. There are many other retail stores that continue to provide washrooms through covid, and OUAC were not following any other guidelines, so that explanation is bull.

I have been to this store dozens and dozens of times. I have bought hundreds of dollars worth of stuff. For the first time ever today, I asked to speak to the manager today. I had a question about a snowsuit they were trying to sell with one missing glove. I was very polite, as I know customer service is a difficult job. But my goodness. I’ve never had a manager speak so rude to me. She was so short with me and what stopped answering my questions altogether and just rolled her eyes. Will be avoiding this location in the future. I’ve been to plenty of other stores across different provinces and staff has been beyond friendly. Not here.

Brought a large box of infant boys clothes in and nothing was stained or worn. Some stuff my son never wore at all. They took 3 shirts and offered me $2.95. Are you kidding me??? Not even worth me driving there. I shop there all the time but won't be coming back!

This place is awesome. It is the best place to buy clothes for your kids. Everything that they take in they've been inspected and it's in pretty decent shape. My wife and I have found gems here of clothes that are almost brand new and they are a tenth of the the price that they would be in another store. The best part of Once Upon a Child is Dollar Days where everything in the store is a dollar. My wife and I have saved thousands of dollars shopping at Once Upon a Child and we will always continue to shop here. They also buy your gently used clothes.

The store is pretty meh. I take a bin and make very sure everything isn’t stained or torn or overly worn before I go in. They buy almost nothing. We’re talking barely worn recently purchased items from baby gap, carters, OshKosh. Then I go look at what’s on the shelf and find tons of old, worn, stained stuff for exorbitant prices. I don’t know who decides what’s β€œfashionable” in that store. Makes no sense to me. Second hand clothes are better purchased from Facebook marketplace where the seller gets to keep all the funds and the buyer gets a better deal.
