Good beach, clean water, free parking

A very beautiful area with a nice spot for swimming but there are a lot of bugs so bring bug spray

Beautiful spot. Calm lake with impressive cliffs and very clear water. Don't park on the side of the road near the lake.

The way it goes to the Oliver lake beach.... the way evening time makes me feel... the way the songs I listened.... everything which helps me, dump all of my miseries and sorrows and makes me feel cherished and happy

A gorgeous lake just 30 minutes from town. We brought SUPs and paddled over the crystal clear Lake. A friend with a camp here mentioned the lake is spring fed which makes for beautiful clear water. There are a lot of little camps nearby and some local kids were jumping off the rocks, its a really nice little spot

We did choose this lake because we didn't have much time. The COVID-19 pandemic made life much tough. Many plans could not be carried out, and we had to work harder. Taking advantage of my wife's day-off, we started to drive at 10 am and be there about 10:45 am. Follow 61 Highway, turn right at Municipality of Neebing Fire Station to 608 HW. The end of 608 HW is West Oliver Lake road. Turn right at the end, and it led you to the west Oliver lake beach (as the GG map said ). Some parts near the lake are out of the phone signal range then it would be better to have an offline map. The road led to the beach was sloping and no parking on the right. This meant you had to drive close to the beach and turned back and parked on the slope. There was a narrow path along the right side of the west Oliver lake. Even there was no parking sign, but many cars did park there, LOL. On the left side of the lake, there was a private property leaning to the rock mountain. The beach was just next to the path and covered by grass, so it was ok that no sand stuck to your slipper after finishing swimming, LOL. The bank is low sloping then perfect for kids playing or swimming. On the left side, some huge rocks were heading to the lake, and many youths used it as a diving edge. The close part of the other side was muddy, so please careful. The farther part was cover by big round stone, and the water is absolutely clear. There are few private areas there if you want a peaceful part for your family only. People came here to play kayak, drive a boat or water motor, even read books on air mat...ect. The water here is much warmer than other lakes I tried. My kids enjoyed much, and my daughter did ask to come back on Canada day. There was a public toilet. It's the chemical one, then please don't overestimate. I think it's good enough for a public place or you have to change your cloth in your tent (if you have lol). The real beach of the west Oliver lake is not too large then it would be crowded after 12 am. Most of people come here and play for about 2 hours. Finish your part and leave for others. LOL. Some people also do fishing here, of course, it would be late night when the lake is rather empty of people. I asked some people for any recommendation for other places like this near Thunder Bay (maybe in the range of 70 km). All the answers were NO. The West Oliver lake is the most beautiful one.
