Perfect place for a leisure bike ride or walk along beautiful Kalamalka Lake. Nice and flat so it's great for all physical abilities. Lots of places to stop on the trail and go for a swim on those hot summer days.

Wow, what a beautiful and easy cruise along the lake. Cycled from Kekuli Bay to Oyama and back again with the children. Definitely this is the trail to take if you’re looking for the ultimate in ease of pedalling your bike while enjoying some BC’s best crystal blue waters. If you get a little warm, just pull over for a quick refreshing dip.

Stayed over at Vernon for a night. I looked for trails to run in the morning and grateful to have stumbled upon this gem. Google Maps satellite view doesn’t have the latest imagery in the area near Coldstream (e.g railways are still showing) so it is best to view the maps either by googling Okanagan Rail Trail Map or go to okanaganrailtrail.ca for up-to-date information. I parked on a residential street near College Way but realized there is parallel parking along Westkal Rd and some parking near the end of Kickwillie Loop Rd. The gravel lot near College Way is closed off to vehicles but it looks like it may be used for parking in the future. I ran from the 0KM marker at the gravel lot by College Way to Kekuli Bay Provincial Park and back on August 3rd, 2020, totalling ~16KM. Enjoyed the beautiful views of Kalamalka Lake in the early morning. There were people walking, running, and cycling. I saw wildlife along the way as well! We will see a lot of improvements in the future as they are building a washroom facility by the trails. There is an Okanagan Trail Rail Master Plan for more info. Hope to return!

Rode from Beasley Parking area around Wood Lake. An amazing ride, trail is getting more compact making it very easy to ride. The new rest area with benches and info on the Kokanee fish is wonderful and informative. Beautiful experience.

Great trail to take a Jeep up on. Small cars are pushing it for roughness in places. View of Wood & Kalamaka Lakes is spectacular.

Coming south from Vernon the new interpretative site, at the four km mark, is a lovely new addition to this fabulous hiking and cycling trail. The signage is informative, especially the way it describes the marl lake and explains the colour changes that seasonally occur in the "lake of many colours". There are really nice benches suitably positioned to provide some pretty great views. On a sunny day this should be a perfect picnic spot.
