Nice looking apartment

Love this place!

Lovely swimming pool and gardens. The complex just needs some upgrading as the apartments are looking pretty tired.

STAY AWAY!! We just moved out of Oakridge Gardens. Firstly, the place is infested with mice. When we complained to the building managers, they denied it initially. We then spoke with our neighbors who confirmed their unit had mice running around. We reached out to management again and they admitted that there was mice and that they can't do anything about it. They suggested us to get a cat, even though pets ARE NOT allowed (what we were told when we moved in). We saw some of our neighbors have cats. The Oakridge Gardens buildings themselves are horrendous. We can hear our neighbors on both sides of the wall talk and even sneeze. There is absolutely no sound proofing. The building managers at Oakridge Gardens are difficult to get a hold of. There is no email contact (they don't have a computer in the office!) and everything is done over the phone. We've had the plumber come to our apartment several times without any notice to fix the toilet because it was leaking to the people who lived below us. When we moved out, we were charged a $250 cleaning fee. We spent hours cleaning the place. We were told that we did not follow a "cleaning list/protocol" that we should have received when we submitted our end of tenancy notice - however, we NEVER received a "cleaning list/protocol" when we submitted our letter. In fact, we just found out this existed when we tried to dispute the fee with Vancouver Management Ltd. In addition, the building managers conducted the condition inspection WITHOUT us present. This violates the "Condition Inspection Report" rules which clearly state that "the condition inspection is conducted with the tenant and landlord at a mutually acceptable date and time". The building managers never reached out to us to arrange a time and date for the inspection. They building manager did the inspection and told us that the place was not clean enough and forced us to sign for the additional cleaning (she told us there was no other option). We were not given an opportunity to clean what they said was not considered adequate. The building manager told us if we do not agree, to take this forward to Vancouver Management Ltd. We reached out the the Vancouver Management Ltd property manager 4 times in the last 3 weeks to complain about these issues with moving out and dealing with the building managers. The Vancouver Management Ltd property manager told us that we should have received a cleaning protocol (none received) and given the opportunity to re-clean the place (was not given this option). We explained the situation and nothing came out of it. The property manager told us that he would charge us even more for the cleaning fee. He said he went to the site and the fridge and stove were not clean enough- we explained we never used the stove/oven. We have our own induction burners that were faster than their stove. My partner also spent more than 1 hr cleaning the fridge and it was spotless before we left. The Vancouver Management Ltd property manager told us if we don't agree with how this was handled, we should file a formal complaint via email- which is ridiculous, as we just spent hours trying to contact and speak with him directly on the phone to file a complaint in the past 3 weeks. If he wanted things in writing, he should have just told us to email him in the first place. We HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND Oakridge Gardens or Vancouver Management Ltd to anyone. It was a nightmare of an experience. They are highly unprofessional with the following WRITTEN protocols and will blindside you with fees that you do not agree with.

We lived there from 2000-2008 or so. Loved it, and great managers then. Any issues were addressed immediately. It was lovely, and well managed. Don’t know how it is now, of course.
