Before we could think of the picture we were sampling the Tiramisu Tart from Pablo Cheese Tart. The coffee component is the NXT Brazil 7 Falls. The Pablo bakery is located at 10163 81 Ave NW, Edmonton. My my that was tasty.

I've been here a few times, and have successfully suggested it to several of my coffee nerd friends. The owner's in-depth knowledge and enthusiasm is apparent when he's showing you around the place and how his custom, in-house roasting process works, it's really quite an impressive system. But the most important aspect is that his roasts and beans are phenomenal! So fresh tasting, lots of variety, and each has such a unique character. I love the yellow catuai and Guatemala personally.

This place is a little miracle. In a city with quite a few roasters, none can match the level of care and attention that is given to the whole process here. From the custom-built roaster, to the copious amounts of data that go into each and every decision, this guy has the art and science working in tandem. If you are interested in the details of how it is done, stop in when there aren't many people around and you can even get a tour of the whole setup along with a detailed explanation of how and why it works the way it does. Such passion and dedication to an art, while using applied science. Absolutely impeccable! Oh, and the coffee is legitimately awesome!

Recently stopped by this place as I saw the signs that they were roasting coffee beans that day and it piqued my curiosity. The owner is very knowledgeable about coffee and the process. He is also exceptionally pleasant and passionate about coffee. The quality of the coffee is amazing. I’m an avid coffee drinker and can confidently say that the Santa Clara coffee I bought from him made one of the best cups I’ve ever tried. The roasting was perfect. The price is also more than fair for the quality provided and the overall experience he offers. Would definitely buy more in the future!

10/10 quality and value from this little tucked away jewel! Drinking their coffee has practically ruined all other brews for me. The owners are friendly and clearly proud of their craft.

Was looking to try some local coffee roasters and since we were in the area decided to stop in and check NXT out. We were immediately greeted by the scent of roasting coffee when we walked in. The owners are very friendly and knowledgeable, ground up the coffee for us and let us see where they roast their beans. Will definitely be back for more as they were nearly sold out when we arrived. The Guatemala is all they had left and it was delicious, makes great cold brew.

I stopped and purchased some beans from this place and pulled a few shots... Fantastic coffee... I tried a few other places in town and so far none compare. I also have to complement the lady (I believe it was the owner) that sold me the coffee. I asked for 4 bags and she suggested i only take 2, as they could loose their freshness if I didn't use them quickly enough. She even gave me a small bag of extra beans so I could dial in my machine. She wanted to ensure I got the best out of my purchase! Not only do they have fantastic coffee, but the owners take care of their customers. Remarkable!

This is the ONLY place we want to buy coffee from from now on ., for the excellent flavour and the minimal use of resources to run this great roastery This is how business should be run. And always welcomed and greeted so graciously here. One of my favourite mom and pop shops in Edmonton!

What a gem this spot is! Inconspicuous spot tucked behind the Home Depot on 68 Ave connecting Gateway and Calgary Trail, but totally legitimate and the real deal. To be honest, the beans and roasts NXT does are a bit too dark/bold and oily for my taste, as I typically enjoy super light and fruity cups brewed in a Chemex, but that still doesn't make it any less than a 5-star spot in my eyes. While maybe not my typical preference, I can still tell that the quality and freshness are top notch and this is a spot I will be recommending to all my friends who prefer bolder brews, because this is a dark roast lover's dream. I especially think that NXT is perfectly representative of the small business charm, with super competitive prices ($10 for 250, cheapest I've seen for specialty coffee in Edmonton or Calgary) and friendly and knowledgeable service from the owners/partners up-front. I've tried the Fazenda Santa Helena Brazil and Costa Rica beans, and both were as fresh as it gets, robust, and distinctive. The Costa Rica especially has a nice aftertaste. Definitely give NXT a shot because they deserve much more recognition!
