We are the charter air service for fly-in fishing trips in Ontario, Canada. Fly to remote outposts for camping, fishing, day trips and sightseeing flights.

About Northwest Flying Inc.

Air transportation in Nestor Falls was started back in the late 1940's by Red Swanton. He transported fishermen with a Waco and a Fox Moth from the old base on Lake of the Woods known as Clearwater Air Service. In the early sixties Red sold his charter to Ralph Showalter when it then became Northwestern Flying Services.

The company changed hands a few more times up until 1987 when the Pope family acquired the business changing the name to Northwest Flying Inc. We have our own hangar with a dedicated AME on staff who takes exceptional pride in maintaining our fleet of 5 aircarft. Several of our pilots have been with the company for many years and are among the most experienced in the business.

We are only a short 1 hr drive across the border in Nestor Falls. We offer free onsite parking, cooler, freezer storage as well as camp diesel fuel and gas. Propane, lumber delivery service is avaialble through local hardeware store as is grocery, bait service.

Been using their flying services for 15 years - I think, but have lost count - and have enjoyed staying at their outpost on Lake Kishkutena for many years. Whether you use their flying services or stay at one of their outposts you will not be disappointed. The pilots are terrific, the planes are like one of the family and Shane and Gina and crew will make you want to return every year.

Our vehicle was moved near the plane for our arrival back to make efficient work of getting our gear loaded and on our way home.
