This school dosen't care about student's homework, marks, absent or who came late! Most of the students are in their mobilephone all the day, because most of the teachers don't have ability to manage the class! My experience with northview is there is no dicepline for teenagers, which is more nessessery than evrything else. Student can try sigaret, weed, drink and mach more, easily...... not recommended at all.!!!!!!

It's a good school, it has its flaws. Some staff arnt perfect, bad crowds of people, and a pretty bad club selection but it's decent. Nothing to awful, nothing to nice either

Very few teachers really care about your education, small list of clubs, students have no discipline, the assemblies are poorly put together, people there are like NPCs with no humanity. I go to a factory. Man, I just don't fit in with the whole multiculturalism part of the school, ended up not having more than a few friends because of racially segregated friend groups.

I had such a bad experience with my guidance counsellor Ms. Alexandra Dobbin. She is so two-faced. She pretends to show herself very lovely among other teachers but when it comes to students she is extremely rude and disrespectful. Moreover, she has such a poor knowledge about universities and colleges applications. In addition, she is so irresponsible and unprofessional, during pandemic when you email her and ask her a question it takes years for her to answer! Furthermore, most of the advise that I received from her was wrong! I’m so lucky that I didn’t listen to her. Most importantly, she doesn’t care about students mental health at all. I really don’t understand why TSDB and the principal do nothing about her. However the teachers at Northview are so nice and educated, especially Ms. Martinez and Mr. Sukhu. They’re so nice and if you have q question they make sure that you understand that and they’re always there to help you. In the end, I’d suggest this school to you if your guidance counsellor isn’t Ms. Dobbin otherwise try to change your guidance and if you can’t just go to another school.

Graduated almost almost a decade ago. Having heard high school stories from other places since then, very glad to have done my high school education here. It's a school very good at incorporating various student movements, very few incidents of school ground bullying, balanced mix of cultural backgrounds from across the globe, with top notch athletics, arts, and math/science programs. Great & responsible teachers are hired here. From creating leadership camp programs, to connecting students with city-level student initiatives, this school comes highly recommended and had been a great preparation for uOttawa.

I'm so glad that I graduated this year, and I won't be back to Northview. The teachers are good but my guidance counsellor Ms. Dobbin was so bad. Besides being so rude, she's so arrogant. Before the pandemic and switching to online classes, I was so uncomfortable going to her office. Whenever I went to her office, she used to close the door for no reason and seat very close to me and talk to me about her personal life. It made me so uncomfortable! Also, as a guidance counsellor, she doesn't care about students' academic progress or their mental well-being. I really wish I had chosen another school.

The greatest highschool I know. It gave me a diploma, but most importantly, the teachers that helped me along the way contributed to my maturation into a good man. Thats a blessing I could never forget.

Your expirience at this school depends heavily on multiple things. 1. Your work ethic 2. The people you hang around 3. What the first letter of your last name is 4. Which teacher you get for which class If you do not have a great work ethic and struggle to get work done, do not expect any guidance or anything. Even if you try to fix anything, most teachers will act indifferent after having a bad image of you. So unless you have a good work ethic do not expect advice, they will leave you in the dirt. As for the people you hang out with, there are many groups, but unless you are well known and liked somewhat you will not have a good time. Big gossiping problem within the school as well. Just watch where you step and don't make your self known. You can either get a guidance councilor who is invested in your success or just someone who is there to tell you the same thing your teachers are telling you. Also depending on who you get, you might not even be given a good insight on how to improve on anything. There is a huge inconsistency problem within the school. Let's say you are studying GR 12 Math U, one teacher guides you well and is helpful to the students who show effort and those who don't know where to continue. Then there are the ones that will humiliate the ones falling behind, the only thing is that there is no preferential treatment, just humiliation. So if you are struggling to figure things out, or are looking to learn ways to improve. Don't risk it at this school. There are much better high schools elsewhere. I have not mentioned names due to respecting the privacy of the staff at this school. But hey it's just a high school, what did you expect?
