Northern Light Resort

We had a great time. Debbie in the front office was excellent Our cabin was clean and well kept and taken care of. Definitely will return!

I tried this place once and said I was never going back. But I did. I tried this placed a second time and now I am saying I will definitely not go back. The only thing this location has going for it is a Sandy Beach on the lake where you can swim. But they also allow boats and other motorized watercraft to drive right through the swimming area. So keep an eye out at all times for yourself and your kids if you have any.

A lot better than tent camping, but get details on your cabin before you go. They're all different. Some have no toilets. Others have a lot of kitchen supplies. The beach is great and the staff was super nice!

The parties, the lack of fish, the ticks perhaps due to un-kept grass, the dirty cabins, the lack of staff, and the lack of privacy due to proximity of other renters (as mentioned by other reviewers) are all true; in my opinion too. In my opinion I do not believe the owner does enough to provide security from bears or other dangerous animals especially with alot of young children running around. All campground garbage is kept in one centralized location, which in my opinion, might encourage dangerous animals more rather than less. In my opinion, the owner can't always provide the full service campground sites that is advertised. Often a site might have minimal power to run even the most basic appliance OR there might be power outages OR there might be a trickle of water coming out of the tap. In my opinion, these are problems often experienced by campers in this campground. If the one reviewer thought the cabins were dirty perhaps that reviewer didn't get a chance to use the public bathrooms. It is my opinion that the public bathrooms are dirty and bug infested amongst other issues. As pointed out in some reviews, the sand beach is nice. However, that is only if you can actually enjoy it. To my knowledge every year children (including my own) swimming in this lake have ended up getting swimmer's itch. In my opinion, it is dangerous for electrical wires to be left lying around on the ground (with children playing around) because for whatever reason they weren't buried within a reasonable amount of time. Despite the posted speed limit, it is my opinion, that the campground owner speeds around the campground in/on anything he is driving. Due to this, it is my opinion, that children should be careful walking the roads of this campground. It is my opinion that the proximity of camping units to each other lacks privacy. However, it is also my opinion that the proximity could become dangerous if a fire started in a neighbour's unit so close to the next unit and the next unit and the next unit. It is my opinion that, by the nature of these structures/buildings, they might burn very fast. In addition to that, it is my opinion, there is a fire hazard most nights as several campers go to bed at night with firepit fires still burning unattended. In my opinion, this campground may have some environmental issues with septic tanks overflowing onto the ground's surface. Also, in my opinion, there may be some cabins and/or other buildings and/or camping units using leaching pits for black water due to not being hooked up to a septic system. In my opinion, it says something about the campground, when you can drive into this campground at the end of a weekend, roll down the car window and NOT smell fresh air. As mentioned numerous times, this review is my opinion of Northern Light Resort. Thank you.

Wasn't that great. Cabin was not that clean. Refrigerator was not working well. Had to put food in freezer, which then froze. Oven on stove did not work. The two slice toaster only had one side that worked and the the other side only toasted one side of one slice of bread. No staff to help with any problems after the store closes. Coffee cups were chipped and stained. Grass around cabin was not cut or even trimmed down. Dishes provided were not clean. Plates, glasses, cups and cutlery still had crusty food left on them. Everything had to be washed prior to using it. Kitchen table was very tacky and had to wiped down several times before you felt it was safe and clean enough to put your dishes and food on it. Mattresses smelt more like urine not just stuffy from over winter. Some areas on the floor was questionable and you were not sure if you were going to go through. Windows are small and not enough air flow. For what you paid to rent a cabin you would have expected it to be in better condition and on the lake front not with personal motor homes all in front of you. Lake and beach was good. No garbage. Not too many party people and when there were they kept it to a decent level. Staff actually need to clean the cabins. Use some bleach and all purpose cleaner. Wash the dishes after every renter. Just don't sweep the floor and call it a day. Rent there again? I don't think so!!!!!

Great if you like parties and loud nights, if you have kids or want to relax and sleep not so much. The lake is very crowded so don't count on catching a lot of fish. It's a very busy campground so if you are looking for a quiet getaway consider another place, but if you're into drinking and parties this is great. Unfortunately for us this was too loud and crowded to enjoy. Also take note we encountered a lot of ticks here.

Rating 4 star for now, due to no kitchen open... also I find the prices on the high end. Everything is just fine, all are friendly.plus for live bands on long weekends!! Definitely more party during some weekends. The beach is second to none.

The fishing was great but the accommodations....not so much! The cabin was filthy and the beds were extremely uncomfortable. Everything is packed in too tightly so there is no privacy whatsoever and the partying went on until almost 2 am. The people at the front desk were extremely nice but the cabin we were in was run down badly. We had to wash our dishes before using them and the sheets, blankets and pillows were disgusting.
