β β β β β I actually really, really like this office complex. It's so open and postmodern, and paying property taxes and the like has always been a breeze for me. Sometimes, when the times were a bit more normal, I would walk around the complex and see how interesting the internal architecture is. It really is quite something, and the service I get from the employees here have always been prompt and courteous.

β β β β β Good but lately, I noticed homeless hanging out around here. This is an Uptown Area unlike downtown Areas. Housing issues? They're putting Home less people in 5 β hotels. It was never know this neighborhood for over 2 decade's.

β β β β β Your standard City of Toronto office building. Complex includes meeting rooms, the adjacent Douglas Snow Aquatic Centre (one of the better City pools), skating rink in winter, weekly farmer's market, wedding chapel, North York Centre Library. This one used to be the City Hall for the old City of North York.

β β β β β Itβs an older civic centre that could use an update. There are stairs to get to the main floor if youβre entering from Mel Lastman Square. The building itβs easy to navigate with enough signage. The bathrooms are very old and small.

β β β β β Interesting centerpiece art that refracts natural light. Where NY community council still meets. The modern architecture is stuck in the 70s but still works with lots of natural light. A facelift, and a move away from browns and terracotta colours, may not be a bad idea to keep pace with its surrounding neighbourhood.

β β β β β This building was once the darling of all the former cities before the City of Toronto amalgamation took place.
The City of North York and Mayor Mel Lastman up until 1997 was the envy of βthe sixβ because it had rich ratepayers living here and hence a very nice Civic Centre.
Iβm here for a meeting and got to pay this nice venue a visit.

β β β β β If you are here for a Marriage License, entrance is located on the south side of the building (North York Blvd). Like everywhere else mask/face covering is mandatory.
A staff member will meet you at the sliding doors, make sure you have an appointment, paper work and 2 pieces of goverment issued identification (for example: driver's license and passport). COVID questionnaire and only 1 person is allowed inside.
They are on lunch from 11:45am to 12:45pm.

β β β β β There is construction inside and out which makes this a less than inviting place to be. I was just there for my wedding and the chapel was nice. The wallpaper and lighting made for lovely pictures. We did have issues with the sound system though. There is also a small room at the back where brides can prepare though there is no mirror and there is a coat rack which is handy.
We had hoped we could use the underground parking but there is no direct access or signs so finding your way is incredibly confusing. We ended up just using the Green P parking across the street.
