We are very pleased with the quality of our Hunter Douglas blinds. The mechanisms for the blinds with power view automation is extremely quiet. We used to have Graber shades and the motorized shades were way more noisy than these. The lifetime warranty for this mechanism is also a big plus. We were pleased with the service of the staff at Normandeau Kelowna from the ordering to the installation. Thank you!

I called Normandeau Window Coverings about Hunter Douglas venetian blinds. I am extremely impressed by the staff there. We have 29 Hunter Douglas blinds in our home and, after 19 years of almost daily use, two of the largest blinds were showing their age. My call was answered by Judy, a very knowledgeable and very pleasant administrative staff member. I described the problems with the two blinds, and Judy told me my options, i.e., send them to the Hunter Douglas repair facility in Calgary, try to get them repaired by a local repair company, or replace them with new blinds. She even included pros and cons for each, noting that those blinds are no longer made, so some parts might not be available. Although the blinds have a lifetime warranty, the customer has to pay the shipping cost and there is a small charge for the H.D. dealer to do the packaging and handling. When I told Judy the dimensions of the two windows, she was able to give me, very quickly, the approximate cost for two new blinds. I was amazed, just a few minutes later, to receive an excellent unsolicited email from Judy providing very useful additional information, e.g., how to find the old order # on our blinds, a 1-800 Customer Service # for Hunter Douglas (so I could inquire about parts availability), and contact information for local repair in case we chose that option. I was able to determine that the Hunter Douglas repair facility in Calgary can repair the blinds, and I brought them to Normandeau to look after packaging and shipping. Judy was not on duty, but I was well looked after by Kayla, their design consultant. Later, I also had a pleasant conversation with the store manager, whom I called to say thank you and advise that I would be writing a very positive review. Today, less than a week later, I received an email from the Calgary repair centre manager advising that they were able to replace the broken parts in our blinds with updated parts. To sum up my experience with Normandeau (and Hunter Douglas): When I called about the potential repair of a couple of almost 20-year-old Hunter Douglas blinds, I was treated just as well as if I were buying dozens of new blinds. Our blinds were able to be repaired, but we will surely need new blinds or other window coverings in the next few years. When that time comes, we will certainly choose Normandeau Window Coverings and Hunter Douglas products. They are a great team!

I had been needing blinds for my kitchen in Salmon Arm to keep out the summer sun and heat. I happened to be in Kelowna and on a lark I stopped by Normandeau. Cori, there, showed me several product options for my application. On a roll, on my way home I did try other window covering places in Kelowna and Vernon. The next day, I tried a place here in Salmon Arm. Within a day of giving Cori my window measurements, she had emailed me a quote. We went back and forth with emails a few times as I changed my mind on product and number of blinds I wanted in order to meet my budget. Each time Cori responded within a day. Before my order was finalized for price and product, Cori came to my place to show me color & texture options as well as confirm the window measurements. I opted to do my own installation. When my blinds came in, I asked her if she could bring them to Vernon for me to pick up, and she readily agreed. And when I ran into a problem during the installation with a bracket, she came up with an alternate bracket and offered to meet me or mail me the alternate. I chose mail. When Canada Post returned her mailing, she texted me about the delay; that she would be trying alternate packaging. Within three days, I had the alternate and my last blind was up and looking good. I love how my blinds look and work. Cori, from Normandeau, was extremely helpful, communicative, professional, prompt and efficient. This was a wonderful buying experience for me, which I attribute in large part to Cori.

Working/ dealing with Cori at Normandeau has been an absolute pleasure. This was the first time during our renovations I didn’t get a comparison quote, as I immediately knew I wanted to work with Cori and give her our business. She was friendly, professional, and provided outstanding communication throughout the process. We now have beautiful window coverings installed, and I could not say enough good things regarding the process start to finish with Cori.

We are loving the new shades in our living room and bedroom. Kayla was professional , experienced and made a home visit soon after we went to their store. The installer was quick, exact and friendly. Couldn’t be more pleased with this product. It also came in a timely manner. We were told it could take 8 weeks but within 4 weeks we had our shades.

Kayla Knox was exceptional, knowledgable and empathetic with my frustration over my long dealings with another company who I had purchased my blinds from. A representative from Hunter Douglas contacted me later that day to follow up on my issues and said she had also spoken with Kayla with regards to my blinds and was totally impressed with her knowledge and expertise on their product. We love our new window blinds from Normandeau! Kayla was wonderful to work with and always very prompt in responding to our emails. The price was reasonable and the blinds arrived surprisingly quickly considering this Covid world of shortages. The installation (by Brad?) went smoothly and efficiently. Kayla had great insight into what we were after and how it would all come together. We would highly recommend the personal service Normandeau provides :)
