I went to get a COVID-19 shot. I usually go see the Cents when it's hockey season.

The arena in Merritt serves the community and surrounding area well. It does require some updates but has a very proud history and is home to various levels of local minor hockey and the Merritt Centennial hockey club. New management has recently taken the helm. It will b interesting to see how this impacts the physical space. We r fortunate to have an arena and perhaps some level of modernization can b undertaken to further enhance the facility for all year round use.

Great place to watch the kids and is covid conscientious.

I have tried to contact them for the last month, and have received not one call back. I just had to resort to sending an email the listed contact email on their site goes to, because after a month of trying to call them daily, and leaving voicemails I'm quite frustrated. Right now, because of covid we have restrictions on skating. You have to reserve your skate time, and in order to do so you need to be able to contact the office. I really don't think they are that busy that they have not been able to receive any of my phone calls, when I have called daily, multiple times a day, and left at least three voicemails in just the last two weeks; with at least one of those voicemails being just a few moments ago. It's absolutely ridiculous that I have to go to those links just to get a hold of somebody at the arena, especially right now when I can't just show up and go skating with my son during their unlisted hours of operation(Not sure where to find them, aside from the free public skate times/dates). It's bad enough that there is little to nothing for people to do in this almost ghost town that's hanging on by threads, especially for the youth, and young adults; unless you're rich, and can afford an expensive mountain bike(mine was stolen after saving for 5 years for it), ATVs, Side by Sides, snowmobiles, dirt bikes, or whatever. Making it difficult to reach people that are responsible for operating the arenas, and other few things for us to do around here is not only ridiculous, but part of the reason so many kids turn to drinking & drugging. Get your act together Merritt!!!

I enjoy the experience when I go there to participate in watching my 2 grandsons practice hockey. With the social distancing very few people are there to watch. The concession stand is open for some of the older children's practices. It makes it possible to be the only one watching. It's great.
