★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Shawn (english) and David (Math) are amazing, so supportive and patient, always willing to provide help. Shawn’s courses are especially enjoyable and most of the time I come in he and David are in an in-depth conversation and helping a student, it really shows that they care. I do have to mention that in the socials course (which is literally just you and a textbook) you are basically judged on your opinion for the written. It feels like the question should be for english, and it always the same, it kind of sucks. The socials course is not enjoyable in the slightest, and always feels like a chore. I understand it may be hard to get students engaged in the history course, but nobody wants to spend hours copying from a textbook. Regardless, the teachers here do reach out from time to time, but their resources do kind of suck. Also their requirement for coming in for a certain amount of hours per week is kind of stupid, I go here because of my anxiety, and explaining that to a teacher who doesn’t even remember your name is not ideal. But this school definitely works for some students, and I was overjoyed when they brought back the private desks, wish they had more!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ They made me come in to write exams when a teacher was tested for covid. I felt unsafe but they didn’t really seem to care, as all the workers kept working there even when they interacted with the person who had covid.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ For personal reasons I can’t go to a regular school and follow a traditional schedule, so my only option was to attend next step. Every other school offers an online choice, but some how this place doesn’t? Some people cannot go to regular schools and cannot come in because of a global pandemic. It kind of looks like they seem to only care about doing what’s easiest for them over our safety.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I would give this 5 stars, but for a place that focuses on continuing education and learning at your own pace, they really never followed that. I was personally told that either I have to leave or would be kicked out of the school. I was graduated but wanted to upgrade a few classes. I heard it should be under a new principal so I hope they have turned things around. I alone could give five stars to David the math teacher. He is so professional and the help I got from him for my grade 10 math was amazing but after that it was all down hill. If you need math come here.
