★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We have never been treated so poorly by anyone before. Perhaps it was because we are darker skinned, but we were treated so poorly at their show home in Watermark. They barely let us in their door and rushed us out in under 3 minutes. The absolute worst customer service by both representatives, which I later learned, were the owners of the company.
Your energy and how you treat people means a lot. I would never recommend anyone to visit or work with this extremely rude and probably racist company.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ New West did a renovation project (just under $100k) on our home several years ago. It was a terrible experience. New West's representatives were rarely on site to supervise their subcontractors and as a result the project quality and progress were unsatisfactory. I would have written that their progress against schedule was a unsatisfactory but they never shared anything more than a few emails with a few dates with us despite our many requests for a proper schedule and their many assurances that they would have one to us soon.
Ron Butler and Tomo Sokol spent a significant amount of time arguing with us about the contract and scope that they had signed. They had their lawyer call us before the work was complete and threaten to put a lien on our home for funds that they were not entitled to until the project was complete (per the terms of the contract).
Finally, it was difficult getting them to do acceptable warranty work. Part of the original scope for our renovation was to prepare and lacquer an existing oak built-in. Their subcontractor didn't fully sand the unit down and as you can imagine the results were unacceptable. The lacquer started peeling and flaking within a month. New West's fix (three times) was to re-lacquer without fully stripping the unit down and preparing it properly like they were required to do the first time. We had to resort to filing a Civil Claim in Small Claims Court to get a resolution.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Building new or renovating can be challenging. I think the most important aspect of a "good experience" is how problems are dealt with. I can say with confidence, Ron, Mike, and Tomo worked to satisfactorily resolve any issues. Its been 3 years since we've moved in and we are still enjoying our new home. Looking back, one of the things I am truly grateful for is how the New West team came together to re-do our entire basement during the floods of 2103 in a timely manner. Thanks again!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We built our House with New West. They have built our house with top quality, attention to detail and most human way possible. They were not like other builders around corner, who tried to make money from every single request you had with change orders. Throughout the process (Design-Selections-built), they are very accommodating. They give you right advise which saves you real money. We went to them through referral, not from just one but 2-3 families who built their houses with them.
Negotiating process can be little intensive like any other big ticket item purchase for a family because lots is on stake, but once you past that design and built is a breeze. The field team (Mike Steiner) and contractors are top quality.
Recommend New West to anyone.
