★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Food was actually really good for small town Western Chinese style. And the lady at the counter is amazing and really nice. Give it a try.. I wasn't expecting much but I got pleasantly surprised.

My wife and I have had dinner here before, and throughout our latest visit there were only 4 patrons, a biker who sat alone, and a visually impaired man who arrived shortly after us.
The lady who manages the tables was incredible rude to the blind man who asked for assistance with the menu, talking over him, which I'm sure is incredibly difficult for a person with such an impairment. Even though it was a briefly unpleasant exchange it was embarrassing to see in such a day.
It was apparent that she didn't take kindly to the man bringing in his guide dog, and she even took to place chairs around the dog and the table, which prohibited the gentlemen from having unimpeded access to the washrooms.
My wife and I were both troubled by the poor service, and we weren't alone. The biker was just finishing up his meal and asked the gentleman if he could pick up his tab. As we were leaving only the gentlemen and his dog were there, and we asked him if he need to use the washroom as there were chairs in his path, in addition we told him that we were extremely troubled by the way he was treated and that we shared the conviction of the biker. We made sure that this was stated within earshot of the server.
Food is good sure, but my convictions are greater, so I wont be visiting this establishment again.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I order off the menu always, the buffet is great, but I prefer stuff you can't get on the buffet. Ginger beef, I'm allergic to pork, is one such item. They have a unreal war wonton. It's a bit expensive but it's the best hope has to offer. So five stars 100%

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Man almighty, an actual real size portion of food, very impressed with this restaurant, very nice lady at the front, I got a combination plate, it's a perfect man size meal, none of this diet portion food, this is what I needed and it's great tasting too.
Cant wait to try whole menu,I need the calories

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Always really good food if you are looking for westernized Chinese food. The lady who runs the dining room always makes me laugh because she reminds me of Ms Swan from MadTV (if you are old enough to remember that.) I've been eating at the New Golden Star for years and really have never had a bad meal. I always enjoyed the buffet, but they aren't doing buffets at this time (Covid). When they do start up the buffet again, I recommend the "buffet to go". They give you a to-go container and you are free to to fill the container with items from the buffet for one price!
